Walking in an Arctic Freeze: February 16 2025
We are still in the midst of a deep cold spell here in Minnesota. When I went out walking today, it was gorgeous and sunny, but only 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
Still, it’s great to get out and move, and breathe the fresh air, even if it must be taken in through a scarf to prevent frostbite on my face!
In Minnesota, people still go out running, biking, hiking and dog walking in this weather. I saw a number of others out on the trails. They say your blood actually changes if you live in a cold climate. I believe it. Before moving here 20 years ago, I couldn't imagine it. Now I love it!
The sun was just beginning to drop low in the sky, and I was mesmerized by the way the snow turned from white to blue when it no longer had the sun shining brightly on it.
