Valentine’s Day in a Winter Wonderland: February 14 2025
We had a beautiful fresh snowfall for Valentine’s Day. My husband and I went out to dinner and then took a walk in the snow at a city park we often go to, year round.
In fact I’ve posted about this park before in other blog posts before. It is beautifully landscaped and there are sculptures everywhere and a manmade lake running through it. It is gorgeous in every season.
Here’s a picture of me standing in a gazebo.
In the summer there are paddle boats on the water. This time of year it is covered in people ice skating, especially when the weather is perfect like it was tonight.
The snow was still falling lightly, and the temperature was perfect, at about 27 degrees Fahrenheit. It would be too cold if you weren’t dressed for it, or weren’t active, but that is the perfect temp for walking or skating.
There is also a pathway all the way around. It’s a beautiful stroll, and there are always people walking dogs, pushing children in strollers (though there weren’t any trying to push strollers in the new-fallen snow tonight).
Here are a few of the sculptures.
There is even an amphitheater at one end of the park, and plays and other entertainment are performed there in the summertime.
Before strolling in the park, we went to dinner in a lovely restaurant. It’s a chain called McCormick & Schmicks.
We had some cocktails before the meal came. Mine was a lemon drop martini.
His was something foamy and the bartender put the company initials in the foam.
Well I know this is an Acctifit post, but I can’t help sharing a few pics of our dinner! We don’t go out anywhere fancy very often.
Thanks for visiting!

A very happy Valentine’s Day to you and your hubby!😍
The fresh snowfall looks beautiful, did you get a chance to ice skate?
Ice-skating is so much fun !🤗
I love ice skating, @silvertop. It's not my husband's thing, though. I think it's partly because he's so tall and lanky (i.e. tippy). I'm thinking about finally buying my own skates this year, so I don't have to rent them from the rental shop. And then it doesn't matter whether or not the shop is open!
That sounds like an awesome plan @jayna !😊
I have had my own ice skates for many many years …… now I just need to get out and skate Lol!😇😊
