Just a neighborhood stroll: December 5 2024

(Edited)

My husband and I both left work a little bit early today to get outside before sunset. We took a power walk around our neighborhood to shake out the stress of the day. This time of year you have to watch your step so you don’t slip on snow or ice.

I love this walk because even though it’s just a loop, you can go around as many times as you want and each trip around is about 1000 steps.

One of these days I’ll get out there before the really gorgeous light of mid-day fades! It’s especially lovely and bright when there’s snow.

Today we were a little too late for that, and in fact it was dusk by the time we went inside. We are nearly to the shortest day of the year in this part of the world. I can’t wait for the days to start getting longer again!

Thanks for visiting!

It's wintertime in Minnesota, for sure your chimneys are hot. ❄️

I'm happy to find your profile because I want to support writers publishing real works..I'd also want to learn from you because someday I'm looking forward to make mine. What are your other publications?

Looks like you are bundled up for the cold weather!🥶
I agree with you, I can’t wait for the shortest day of the year, December 22.
Then it’s all uphill, heading towards spring and summer …….. eventually Lol!😇

I don't mind winter, for the most part. But it's quite long and cold here, and I am not fond of the shortest days! Even January and February tend to feel lighter!

Very true ……I’m looking forward to getting past the shortest day of the year…..🙄
We tend to get colder in January and February, with the possibility of snow, but a little bit more daylight!😎
