My Actifit Report Card: July 7 2022
I took a rather short walk by the water tonight. It was sunset, but you couldn't tell because it was very gray and raining a little. Still, it was great for pictures.
I actually lightened up nearly all of them because they were so dim and gray!
I love how sailboat masts reflect in the water.
I also just enjoy walking along the docks and window shopping for boats. We don’t own one, but I daydream about it all the time! My husband and I talk a lot about a cabin and how we would manage two properties, and whether we would have a boat. One day the debate will be settled. For now, I just look at other people’s boats!
The rest are in the fun and/or artsy category. First, a couple of simple rowboats… not what I dream of when I daydream about owning our own boat!
Next I took a couple of art photos of my umbrella. It wasn’t raining hard, but enough that I was glad I brought it. Then I decided it made a nice photo subject on the dock.
A little later I saw a woman coming in on a paddle board. It seemed like a lovely experience to be out on that gray evening with a bit of rain coming down. I asked her if she minded me taking a picture of her for my blog and she said it was fine.
The next one is of the swallows that live at the marina. They like to nest under the bridge and they feast on gnats ad mosquitoes and are constantly flitting everywhere on summer nights. But now and then they will perch on a mooring rope.
The next is a muskrat swimming along.
And my last photo is the one I didn’t lighten. It gives a better sense of night falling. The dock lights were coming on and the rain was picking up.
That’s it for today’s post! Thank you for visiting! As a side note, I totally missed #wednesdaywalk yesterday because a) I’m all messed up this week because it’s a holiday week and b) I took a bike ride instead of a walk. Oh, and c) I didn’t manage to post because by the time I set out to do so, my eyes wouldn’t stay open! @tattoodjay, sorry to be a dropout this week! 😁

hahahahaha ok this comment is not about this post... lolol
but I can't find your rainstorm fiction!!! lololol
you got me all interested in finding out the ending and now I'm on a wild goose chase! hahahhaa
#NeedLinkPleeeeease 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh! Ha ha, no you won’t find it because it’s not on Hive. I send most of my short stories out to publishers to be evaluated for placement in literary magazines. But now you’ve got me thinking. The one I mentioned hasn’t been picked up by a publication. Maybe I should go ahead and post it on Hive. I’m tired of it being under foot! 😆
POST POST POST POST!!!!
then drop link! hahahahahahahahaha
and do you get picked up often??!?! that's so cool!!!! do you have a post that shows how you do that??? i would love to try!
Oh you should, @dreemsteem! Absolutely! I have several stories published, and am just finally getting traction. It took me a long time to get into my stride with the whole process, but I currently have seven stories in circulation. One has to be prepared for a large percentage of rejections. You just send them right back out to another market. I've never written an article about it because I don't want to suggest people should leave Hive to publish their stories! But maybe I should. You can get a look at part of the process in this post about my Write Club workshop community (off Hive).
checking out the post!
and I don't think it would feel like a suggestion to leave Hive - i think people should try to use their content in as many ways as possible! hehehe I think that's totally supported here! (but - i don't know hahaha maybe you're right???)
like - i wrote Fireflies first on Hive- and then wrote the second book on Amazon. but I keep writing here too! hehehehe
either way - i'm gonna check out your post!!!
