Winterizing - Actifit: November 6 2021
My steps today were all acquired through gardening and house chores. I need to winterize before it’s too late. In Minnesota, one never knows at what point that will occur. Last year it happened before Halloween. This year it will evidently be sometime in November.
Before I talk about winterizing, here are a few pictures from around the house that I took while taking wheelbarrow loads to the compost heap.
I got started today by pulling out my sprawling tomato plants. I conjecture that the two tomatoes, which I planted side by side in May, had sprawled out so much as they grew that they were about 12 feet across.
The only evidence of it now is what I heaped into the wheelbarrow, but I’m pretty sure it was getting ready to take over the world.

It really sneaks up on you, doesn't it, @tattoodjay? We have had a few frosty mornings too. I consider them a warning, and I have not done a good job of paying heed. But at least I cleaned out my little pond and moved the goldfish into my indoor fish tank. If the weather turns, everything else can be done in the spring after the snowmelt!
