(ESP-ENG) La dura bienvenida a los novatos.
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
Finally Formula 1 has started this past weekend and what a way it did it. This season is special because it has been a long time since there were so many rookies on the grid, at least for me this fact generates a lot of expectation because if they are there and were chosen to drive one of these cars is because there is a good resume. The Albert Park circuit has usually given us good races, this weekend was no exception because thanks to the rain the track was very complicated so the skills and tricks of these drivers had to come to the fore. And yes, the rookies had a hard time, or at least most of them.
Saturday's pole position left us with interesting things, the first impressions of the season. The first thing is that McLaren's dominance is still intact, achieving 1-2 a few years ago was unthinkable; Tsunoda and Albon were faster than the Ferraris. This is perhaps the most worrying thing, that neither driver was able to beat a Williams and Racing Bulls is something very significant. And well, let alone the performance of Bearman and Lawson, a complete disaster. I think that the RB people did not plan such a disastrous weekend for the young New Zealander; it is true that we should not draw conclusions yet, since it is only the first race, but the pressure on him and everyone else is gigantic.
The race preview was generating impatience and expectation since rain was expected, a lot of rain, to such an extent that they even thought of bringing forward the start of the race. Fortunately they did not do it and the race started without problems. Races with rain are very attractive, understanding the risk involved, usually there are unexpected situations that can mean a result that was not seen coming. And for example, just in the formation lap Isack Hadjar lost control of his car leaving him out of his debut, a real pity because among all the rookies he was one of the best in the pole. The race started with 19 drivers and two of them starting from the pitlane.
The real challenge here was for Norris to keep the first position, the one that escaped him so much last season. The lights went out and indeed Norris' start was very good, not so good for Piastri who lost that second place to Verstappen. The speed would not last long as Doohan and Sainz would fall quickly, in less than 5 laps there were already 3 drivers down. This was a sign that the track was very difficult to manage, going over the white stripes was a death trap for anyone. The race in general terms was very entertaining, a lot of strategy, the one that Ferrari lost again in an inexplicable way with both drivers; Sainz suffered it last year and now in just the first prize Hamilton experienced it. The thing is that the weather was so unstable that predicting which tires to use was almost a chance, hence the mistake of the people of the red team, from being leading to being P8 and P10.
Little by little they continued to fall, it was Alonso's turn to close with Bortoleto and Lawson. In the end there were 6 retirements of which 4 were rookies. Antonelli with Mercedes had an impressive debut finishing P4, the young Italian ran very well, he was always seen with the car under control and never had major problems beyond a spin that he was able to control without problems. Bearman finished last, out of 14, in a weekend to forget, since the practices he has had difficulties, it is likely that this Hass already needs to be touched up because Ocon did not show anything either. It was a hard prize for the rookies, a proof that F1 is different from F2 and other categories. It is necessary to see them on a dry track, in their defense the circuit was very mean to be driven.
In conclusion to say that the pace of McLaren is devastating, there is no team that reaches them today. Verstappen, despite not having the best car, thanks to his ability will always be up there fighting, this race was the proof of that. I think Mercedes can achieve great things, Russel was very consistent and was seen with good pace. If Ferrari don't manage their off-track work well and listen to their drivers it will be a tough season for them. And Williams has the material to fight for the middle of the constructors' table, they took 12 points thanks to Albon but with Sainz on track they can do great things, that car is very fast. Good start of the season, the next race is this coming weekend in China, so yes, it's time to get up early again.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos leemos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.
¡Hugs to all, see you next time!

Saludos estimado.
