(ESP-ENG) Hablemos de los cuartos de final - Euro2024!
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
Today, in a few hours, the quarterfinals of the European Championship will begin, where perhaps 6 of the eight teams were called from the beginning to be the great favorites of the tournament. It must be said that this Euro has been characterized as one in which the dominance of these selections has hardly existed, it is true that at least in one game if we have seen some overwhelm but the average or average is that no, they have been very even or even boring games. Despite this I think that at least the top 2 of this list are still at the top in my perception to be the possible winners: Spain or Germany.
The point here is that these two teams face each other today in what promises to be one of the best matches that this cup can give us. The Iberians comfortably beat Georgia by 4-1 in a match which was widely dominated by Spain with a splendid Nico Williams in the hands of Lamine Yamal and a surprising Fabian Ruiz who already in PSG has given touches of his quality. Germany on the other hand met Denmark defeating them 2-0 with Jamal Musiala, a young man of only 21 years old, carrying on his shoulders this team that at times seems to be lost on the field, aimless and without generating the danger that one would expect from them.
Difficult to give a winner but beware of Spain that if all their pieces are plugged in they can give Germany a hard time who has already been vulnerable. In the end everything will depend on what Musiala and Nico Williams are able to do. Portugal vs France is at the second hour, Mbappé and CR7 will face each other to try to get their respective teams through. With the Gauls something curious happens and that is that they are in the quarterfinals after scoring ONLY ONE GOAL and from a penalty precisely by Kylian. This is a very worrying statistic because it tells us about the lack of offense, all the other goals have been own goals. Knowing the potential of this team, their performance is regrettable.
Portugal had a hard time beating a modest but very tidy Slovenia, 120 minutes they were unable to score despite having the chances. The Lusos in general looked much more compact and forceful than France. I am convinced that if Cristiano and company decide to play a good game they are 100% capable of knocking France out; of the big favorites, Deschamps' team has been one of the least showy, perhaps along with England. In the end and no matter how much one analyzes, these are very even matches and in direct knockout matches anything can happen. But yes, my chip goes to Portugal, against all odds.
England will meet Switzerland, who eliminated Italy. Honestly I don't see the English as favorites, since the beginning of this Euro they have been a sea of doubts, especially defensively and also thanks to Southgate's lack of credibility. A team with such powerful players can't play so bad, it's a pain to watch them on the field, sometimes I wonder how they reached the final 3 years ago considering that it's almost the same team. Switzerland can give the big surprise, they gave it with the Azzurri, they can give it again. They have shown that line by line they are very solid and when it comes to pressure they capitalize.
And finally I tell you about the Netherlands, perhaps the clearest match for me. Turkey did not look good against Austria, they won thanks to two set pieces and had to endure a merciless pressure from the Austrians. The Netherlands on the other hand have been going from strength to strength, the way they beat Romania was very convincing, especially because the Romanians were called to give a better performance after what they did in the group stage. No doubts here, I think Koeman and his team will go through without any problems, they have a very top team despite the fact that they are not much talked about, which is strange because nobody puts them as favorites. Let's see then...
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos leemos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.

Saludos amigo!
Estos cuartos de final espectacular hasta ahora. Partidos muy emocionantes. El de Alemania y España estuvo brutal
