One of the stadiums with the most aura in the world is undoubtedly the Santiago Bernabeu and it has been the home of great epics, matches and comebacks that are in the hard drive of all white fans and soccer fans in general. Before yesterday's match, there was talk of precisely that mystique, of trying to relive those magical and unforgettable nights to which Real Madrid has always been accustomed. Unfortunately it did not happen, in fact it was very far from happening and it was partly thanks to an Arsenal that has been demonstrating that their aspirations are very serious with the help of Mikel Arteta. Last week I expressed it here, if the team coached by Ancelotti wanted to have any chance against the English they had to change everything, the game chip and the mentality. It is very bold to express negative opinions about a coach of the caliber of Carlo Ancelotti but cycles come to an end, I think the Italian is one of the most successful and winning of the club but there is something that is not working. It may be the way the game is played, poor squad planning, problems in the dressing room or all of the above that is causing this “crisis”. Now, is this a failure? - I think so. And at the beginning of the season many analysts asserted that this team would win everything “walking” with the arrival of Mbappe. And I keep repeating like a parrot but Madrid still can't overcome the withdrawal of Kroos and the injury of Dani Carvajal. Next week they face Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey, needless to say that this match can decide a lot of things at the end of the season if these quarterfinals have not already done so.

But let's also talk a bit about Arsenal. Personally I want this team to win the Champions League, for years I have wanted the English to win this competition and even more with Arteta's project which is a serious and very well planned one. Players like Jurriën Timber who did not show any light to Vinicius, Lewis-Skelly, the midfield with Partey and Declan Rice who was the best player of the tie, made Arsenal's game take off and yield a lot of fruits. Martin Ødegaard was also decisive, a former Merengue player by the way, with his driving and vision he helped the strikers to generate danger and bother the defensive saga. It is true that yesterday Arsenal did not play as well as in the first leg but they did play much better than their opponents.

Now Arsenal has to face PSG, a team that lost against Aston Villa and had a hard time in this second leg as the English were very close to turn the aggregate score around. If Arteta's team keeps the solidity and everything they showed against Real Madrid in both matches, it is very likely that they can reach the final. The thing is that all this is very unpredictable and the fact does not imply that. For the time being, the "monster" of almost 80,000 people was silenced yesterday and its historical myth, which frightens and makes all those who step on its turf fearful and respectful, could not be proven or activated.

As I said, Arsenal-PSG and Barcelona-Inter are the two semifinals that we will be able to enjoy in two weeks. We will talk more in depth about them when the time comes. As far as I'm concerned, I really like these two matches, very varied and interesting.
