(ESP-ENG) Adam Sandler es un genio y Hustle es la prueba // Adam Sandler is a genius and Hustle is the proof!
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
Today we embark on what is trending, on the movie that everyone is talking about and commenting on and that I only decided to see yesterday. I have always been a big fan of Adam Sandler because behind that actor that has us used to super well-known comedy movies there is also the actor that when he has to play a dramatic role or one that is simply more serious than usual, he does it perfectly, he is very versatile and people are not very clear about that aspect to the point that I would say that there is a bit of undervaluation regarding his work.
Hustle is a film that I would categorize as a sports drama, there are few films of that style that are really good, to name a few I would say Invictus, The Fighter, MoneyBall and even Will Smith's latest, King Richard, now you can include this one too. The truth is that based on everything I had read about this movie my expectations, I must confess, increased a bit seeing how everyone was talking about it, which is why I decided to jump on the bandwagon and see if it was true. Honestly? - Yes, without a doubt yes, I think it's another great Adam Sandler film that is worth seeing regardless of whether you like basketball or not. So let's go ahead and talk a little bit about what this story is all about...
It all starts with Stanley Sugerman (Adam Sandler) who is a scout for the Philadelphia 76ers NBA team. Basically his job is to travel around the world looking for those players who have a big sign on their foreheads with the name "promising" so they can make it to the top flight and serve the team. The thing is that this is a difficult job because it requires many hours away from home and being away from the family is particularly hard, Stanley is married to Teresa (Queen Latifah) and they have a daughter so that at times of the plot we see that internal conflict of whether to continue pursuing his dream, which is to be a coach, or leave everything and enjoy their own.
But all this takes a 180 degree turn when in one of his trips he meets a diamond in the rough, a real pearl of basketball that he is sure can give much to talk about in the not too distant future, if there is someone who has an eye for that is Stanley who is the best at his job. Everything is perfect until for different reasons there are things from the past of Bo Cruz (Juancho Hermangómez) that begin to come to light which will complicate everything a little. And it is here where Sugerman's confidence comes in and despite having everything against him, he decides to bet on the Spaniard, because Bo is from Spain obviously, and to play it big to the point of having the NBA itself not very happy.

It is a drama with Sandler's characteristic touches of humor that are so particular and well known, I think it is his trademark. The story will never bore you, despite being a very peculiar drama I think it is capable of attracting the attention of any audience because within it there are family factors, life advice, personal relationships both work and personal and the way they are carried depending on the circumstances. Many of Adam's films go this way, whether they are comedic or not, he always focuses on aspects that go beyond and that is something that personally calls my attention.
And the second attraction has to do a little more with sports. In case you don't know, one of the architects and producers of this movie is LeBron James, a superstar of this sport and already one of the best, if not the best in history. Why do I say this? - Because here the amount of active and former players that you are going to see is absurd, the truth is that I could not believe every time a character came out and it turned out to be Anthony Edwards, Boban Marjanovic, Tobias Harris or the same Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley. This is important to me because it is a movie where basketball is the main sport and the best way to make it and at the same time make it well done is with people who know and know the world, it gives an important added value to the plot. Without forgetting that Adam Sandler plays basketball and plays it well, he is very passionate about the sport and it shows in his daily life as well as in many of his roles, including this one logically.
Hustle shows us a side of Sandler that we may have already seen but that nevertheless does not fail to impress or please. He is a very good actor, he plays very well whatever they put him in, but dramas in particular suit him very well even though his forte is comedy. What happens is that he feels so comfortable doing these characters that you don't see him forced or overacted, it's as if he were in a natural state doing what he likes the most without any production team on top of him. In other words he is genuine and that quality shows off screen, you didn't see Uncut Gems but that other great movie where you can enjoy what an amazing actor he is.
As for the co-star, Juancho Hermangómez, who is a player for the Utah Jazz of the NBA, there is not much to say. For a person who is not an actor, I think he did a pretty decent job and the truth is that many of the cast were not actors, the vast majority were players or personalities involved in this sport and that is something that is not noticeable at all. Juancho does well, when he plays the part of basketball what we have left is to enjoy but in the scenes where you have to put an extra I think he tackles it correctly, the dramatic weight of his character is great and deep so there is even more merit.
Anyway, this is one of the movies I've liked the most so far this year. Comparing it with others is silly because they are very different things, I haven't seen a sports drama for a long time, but it still met my expectations. A well done drama but with an important sports load so I think it can be perfectly adapted to everyone. I give it an 8.5/10 because I personally like this kind of films and because I think Adam Sandler did it again with a great movie. It has a duration of a little less than two hours and you can find it on Netflix. As always I share with you the trailer to take a look.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos vemos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.

Adam sandler is a really great actor and I'm not surprised that he does justice to the movie. We're not used to seeing Adam this inspiring but your review was quite something.
I can't wait to watch this movie for myself now , lol ❤️
¡Enhorabuena!
