We continue to bring to the @fulldeportes feed information with the details of the final results of the NFL Scouting Combine 2022 tryouts, this time we will review the top 5 players at the Offensive Lineman (OL) position, as we know this offensive position along with quarterbacks and wide receivers are the most demanded positions by professional teams, this year in the tryouts there was a lot of talent available but the prospects that stood out the most were wide receivers and offensive linemen, in other words, these positions stole the show in the exhibition.

Como se puede apreciar en la imagen anterior, tanto en el equipo ofensivo como en el defensivo existe la posición de liniero, estos se llaman linieros debidos a que están alineados en la línea de scrimmage, en la ofensiva al menos 5 jugadores deben estar alineados, de lo contrario el Umpire marcará una penalización. Los linieros ofensivos en el caso que desarrollamos en este post tienen diferentes nombres para su diferenciación, a continuación el lector podrá saber quienes componen la línea ofensiva principal: Centro (C), Guardia derecho (RG), Tacle Derecho (RT), Guardia Izquierdo (LG) y Tacle Izquierdo (LT).

El salto de longitud es otra de las pruebas obligatorias para todos los participantes, la misma como su nombre lo indica consiste en dar un salto hacia adelante partiendo con los pies, se busca medir la potencia de arranque y la longitud del salto. El récord de 12 pies y 3 pulgadas (3.71 m) está vigente desde el 2015, cuando lo impuso el esquinero Byron Jones de la universidad de Connecticut. Este récord y el reporte del scout (Etiqueta jugador elite) incidieron para que en el draft del 2015 fuera escogido en la 1.ª ronda en el puesto 27 por los Dallas Cowboys.

Esta prueba es una de las más exigentes de todo el conjunto de evaluaciones que se realizan en el evento, en la misma se busca rapidez en cada repetición, cada jugador debe realizar la mayor cantidad de repeticiones, la cantidad de peso a levantar es de 225 libras (102 kilogramos). El récord de esta prueba está vigente desde el año 2011 por el Tacle Defensivo Neozelandés de la universidad Oregon State, Stephen Paea, quien logró alcanzar las 49 repeticiones.

Prueba de los 3 conos | 3 Cone Drill

Esta prueba es una de las que más habilidades requiere para ejecutarla, la misma es obligatoria para todas las posiciones, se busca la mayor concentración y el menor tiempo del jugador en un trayecto de 20 yardas donde hay 3 conos que deben evadirse con cambios de dirección a la derecha y a la izquierda de los obstáculos y finalizar con una carrera a la mayor velocidad posible. El récord está en poder del defensivo Jordan Thomas de la universidad de Oklahoma, quien lo estableció en el 2018 al dejar el impresionante registro de 6.28 segundos en el recorrido completo.

Como ya informamos al principio de este post, los receptores abiertos y los linieros ofensivos y defensivos se robaron el show en el NFL Scouting Combine 2022, y decimos que se robaron el show 1.º porque estos jugadores (Linieros Ofensivos y Defensivos) son los llamados tanques de la artillería pesada del fútbol americano, debido a que son los más pesados y altos, pero estas condiciones no fueron una carga desfavorable, ya que pese a sus condiciones fueron bastantes rápidos y ágiles, nos llamaron la atención los jugadores: Zion Johnson | Boston College, quien exhibió una performance pareja en todas las pruebas, destacando en las pruebas de salto vertical, banco de pesas, donde logró 32 repeticiones, prueba de los 3 conos y carrera de 20 yardas, también nos agradó el desempeño del liniero ofensivo Trevor Penning | Northern Iowa, quien destacó en la carrera de 40 yardas, en la prueba con los 3 conos resulto 1.º. En nuestra opinión nos decantamos por el trabajo que realizó el prospecto Zion Johnson, debido a que figuró con un buen desempeño en las 2 rondas de pruebas, recordemos que en estas pruebas los jugadores compiten 2 veces y se promedian sus resultados, en opinión de los scouts de la liga profesional, Zion Johnson tiene las condiciones de lograr ser escogido en la 1.ª ronda del draft en los primeros 10 lugares, sus números son impresionantes: War Percentil, el cual mide sus números comparándolos con sus rivales en las pruebas le otorgó 95.6 %, esto le ubica con 90% de probabilidades que en el draft de abril sea escogido en los 10 primeros lugares, la otra medida que le da peso a sus números son el tamaño de sus manos (10.60 pulgadas) este prospecto tuvo las medidas de sus manos más grandes entre todos los prospectos de linieros ofensivos y defensivos, el lector se preguntará que tiene que ver el diámetro de las manos en esta posición, pues es sencillo este deporte requiere de jugadores con manos grandes que permitan que tengan un agarre al 100% del balón, y el otro detalle es que con manos grandes y peso de al menos 300 libras se logra mayor capacidad de desplazamiento en los bloqueos, estas características son muy buscadas por los scouts e inciden en el porcentaje que adquiere el jugador de cara al draft, en el caso de Zion Johnson, estos le otorgaron puntuación del 88% con calificación de jugador elite, veremos que pasa en el draft y las negociaciones que hagan los equipos con los representantes de los jugadores, todas las incidencias del draft las seguiremos de cerca y compartiremos nuestras impresiones en respectivos post, muchas gracias estimados lectores por llegar hasta aquí, si tienen alguna pregunta acerca de este post no duden en hacer sus preguntas en la caja de comentarios.
