Desde hace ya algún tiempo la industria del cine tiene su mirada puesta en los deportes, específicamente en el deporte de mayor crecimiento como lo es el fútbol americano, así lo demuestran más de 30 películas basadas en el espectáculo que brindan la NFL, el futbol colegial y las historias reales y ficticias alrededor del deporte de los emparrillados, la verdad es que a Hollywood no ha dejado pasar nada por alto en las distintas categorías y géneros que van desde la comedia, drama, suspenso, acción, series, documentales y biografías basadas en historias reales de jugadores que han dejado sus huellas en el ámbito deportivo, casos emblemáticos hay muchos pero resaltan hoy en día las series sobre la vida del número 1 del básquetbol, Michael Jordan , y la del mariscal de campo Tom Brady, la cual actualmente se trasmite en plataformas de streaming .
