Two Well-Known Landmarks of Durban.

Durban, South Africa, is known for three major sports stadiums. These are the Kings Park Cricket Stadium, the Kings Park Rugby Stadium, and the Moses Mabhida Stadium for soccer.

Today, I want to share some photos of the Moses Mabhida Stadium and the Kings Park Rugby Stadium.

Unless stated otherwise, I used a NIKON D3100 camera.

These photos were taken during various outings and at different times of the day.

Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The Moses Mabhida Stadium is a spectacular, modern stadium. It is one of the stadiums that has been built for the 2010 Soccer World Cup which was hosted in South Africa. It was one of the host stadiums. The stadium is adjacent to the Kings Park Rugby Stadium.

The first photo I will share is one I took one evening from outside the pavillions of Kings Park Stadium after we attended a rugby match there.

The entrance to the undercover parking area at Moses Mabhida Stadium is also visible in this photo and that is normally where I park our car when we come to watch rugby matches at Kings Park.

You can use the sky car to transport you effortlessly to the viewing platform at the top of the arch, from where you can enjoy a spectacular view over Durban...or you can do the "adventure walk", using the stairs to get to the platform on the other side of the arch. They also offer bungee jumping from the viewing platform.

The next photo is a panoramic view which I took with my HUAWEI mobile phone. It was late afternoon on a cloudy day after we watched one of the recent rugby games of the SHARKS at Kings Park Stadium. We were on our way back to our car in the covered parking area of the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

According to Wikipedia, "The stadium has a capacity of 55,500 (expandable up to 75,000)."

Kings Park Rugby Stadium.

Although it is the Kings Park Park Rugby Stadium, it is often referred to as the "Hollywood Bets Kings Park Stadium" seeing that HOLLYWOOD BETS is currently the main sponsor of THE SHARKS.

The Kings Park Rugby Stadium is not as spectacular as the Moses Mabhida Stadium in appearance from the outside...

On this particular day, there was a school rugby event taking place on the fields outside the main stadium.

The next photo was taken inside the Kings Park Rugby Stadium about 3 weeks ago, just before a SHARKS rugby match.

You can see some players busy warming up in the foreground and of course...the Moses Mabhida Stadium in the background.

The dancing team was also doing their thing before the match, with the press capturing every move for TV and photos for newspapers...

With me being more of a rugby fan, I have more photos inside the Kings Park Rugby Stadium...lol.

The following photos were taken during an evening match...

The Kings Park Rugby Stadium was built in 1958 and originally had a capacity of only 12000.

It was extensively renovated in the 1980's though, "and then again in time for the 1995 Rugby World Cup. It currently has a capacity of 46,000" according to Wikipedia.

And that's all for today folks.

Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
