toneri with lights : April 7 2025

blue is the color of the night! blue blue blue. oh that needs more blue! let us all illuminate the town in blue!

i guess that is enough of an introduction. let us proceed with what happened.

Toneri Park (舎人公園)

do you still remember this park? oh you should, that was posted just three days prior to this entry. well if you don't, let me remind you a bit. that was the third largest park within the 23 special wards of tokyo. it was so wide that some parts of it serves as a bird watching site. you can just read the rest of it from the link below.

toneri park nightwalk : April 4 2025

1000035963.jpg

so how come this nightwalker is here yet again after three days? well, the housemates decided to join me on this nightwalk edition and one wanted to visit this park. so who am i to say no? i really do not mind going back to the same place, it will not be the same experience after all with them around. but i was a bit concerned with my blog content for the night, it would be too boring to post the same pictures, right?

the park entrance had a different view this time.

1000035967.jpg

1000035969.jpg

the central leafless alley was well lit. blue! still no water though but those lights were enough to be forgiven. now the only problem was this man in the middle of it all. i guess i will have to embrace his presence in my photos then. he seemed to be a park assigned staff for taking photos, so he deserved to be featured.

1000035970.jpg

1000035972.jpg

kidding aside, this light up is no joke! i did not expect blue lights to have such an impact and to scatter that much on branches. that light created an illusion, those trees seemed to have blue leaves attached. and of course, the white sakura petals looked extra good.

1000035974.jpg

1000035975.jpg

in the previous post i recalled how i wondered how this central fountain piece would have looked like with the lights on. i guess an answer came quick after three days. no need to wonder no more. that flower piece looked great!

1000035976.jpg

1000035978.jpg

and here is more of it with the blue leafed trees as background. they really know how to light things up.

1000035981.jpg
and of course the sakura alley looked extra pretty as well. i just love seeing people enjoying the view, so relaxed and so carefree under these flowers.

we were about to go around the huge lake in the middle, but then we saw these blue lights in the distance. i thought that these were from outside the park, of course i have never been in this side of the park when i came here before. i could still remember how dark it was back then.

1000035984.jpg

1000035989.jpg

and here are the blue lighted fields, all new to my eyes. but then again, park staff were blocking the entrance. no one was allowed to enter except the staff. staff with cameras were also in the area. by now it became clear, this was a shoot for promotional materials.

1000035994.jpg

and that just meant that we were treated to an advance event. jackpot! who would have thought that this 2nd serving of the toneri park view would be so different and so lucky. this area is most likely a flower garden. so i guess these flowers will on full bloom by then.

1000035995.jpg

1000035996.jpg

now look at that sakura tree, this one was definitely a different view of those flowers. it is the same tree but looks so dramatically different based on the light colors. interesting isn't it? a different light then a different sight. oops, that sounded like a life lesson there. i guess you know what i mean.

1000035998.jpg

1000035999.jpg

and some macro shots of those flowers in different light as well. so pretty! although i swear not to take another picture of a sakura, i guess this will be the last. (i do have one more pending post featuring a sakura though so i guess that would be my last entry when that gets posted.)

anyway, the night was really extra fun. it was also very different than the last time i visited. it was all worth it after all.

as always, AMPING KANUNAY!
