experimental nightwalker : February 25 2025
the nightwalker went down to the asakusa river side area. i just miss walking in this place but i always found myself taking pictures of tokyo skytree. a quick browse at the cover photos of my blog entries will tell you that i post a photo of tokyo skytree at least once in the past three or four months. it is nothing but mesmerizing, you can't stop your hands from reaching for your phone and take a snap in full auto pilot. and only then i realize that i took another photo of it. and then have no choice but to post it because it looks so good.
for the above reason, let me start with this picture of shirahige bridge. equally lovely, another stunner in the area. just love how white and bright these trusses area, are they even called those? i really have no clue. this bridge is well lit, and looks great even from afar. my path tonight though was more in the inner streets, the river side was blocked by a narrow strip of buildings; thus, no shirahige view from afar.
and here we are with another shot of tokyo skytree. it was my first time taking this route, a first to see the tower through a fence. of course i will grab that opportunity to do so. and this i will submit to #aroundtheworld contest. i just find the fence "effect" interesting.
and of course, i tried having the fence in focus leaving the tower in a blur. those colors still look great with bright lights still peeking through. this walk turned out to be fun.
here is another shot with the tower reflected on a building. if only there was a bigger wall then the whole tower would have been reflected. bits and pieces got reflected, it was even hard to really understand what it was. i knew it was the tower of course, those colors can't lie.
some flowers in a park were now starting to bloom. these are either sakura or some plum flowers, and yes i took a snap with the tower as well. my camera reel was filled with tokyo skytree pictures that night. but oh my, if these flowers are now blooming then spring is near. temperatures were still single digits though, were these just early bloomers? must be a fluke? but it was not just one plant bush, many were starting to bloom.
here is a normal shot of this tower in a quite flat area. she really is massive and this picture showed that quite well. the tower was still kilometers away, i could not even see the mall base it was on. despite the distance, boom! she is huge!
let me end the night with this colorful parasols on display at a shop. those prints were very interesting indeed, not quite sure though if these were sold in there or if they were just pure decors. they definitely caught my eye though.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!

Very intereting shots. I agree that the reflection would have been better if the building it was reflected on would have been taller with larger windows. The tower is massive. I wonder what it looks like up close? Have you been to it?
i was trying to find a taller building too. that was the only one i found, sadly.
i did went there, you can check below. it gets harder to picture once you get close. i've never been up the tower though.

Thats cool. Maybe one day you can go up the tower and take pictures from above. I just sent you a tip on that post since it was older and past the 7 days to get rewards on.
The sky tree looks very impressive especially at night time in your photos!😊
I wonder what kind of special engineering they had to do for earthquakes ?😮
it seems it is using something like a pendulum to keep everything stable
Now that you mention it I seem to recall watching a show about that.......
Very smart people in Japan!!👍😀
Nice photo study of the evening city :-)
thanks! it was a bit cold though, and my hands were really shaking at some point. that would have ruined my phots.
