snow prequel : January 10 2025
it was the night before the snowboard session. we all went to shinjuku bus terminal for the overnight bus. 11pm was the departure time, and it was expected to reach the venue at 7:30 am.
shinjuku was still in full decoration mode. i guess this is for winter and if so, will still be on till march.
the bus stop was jampacked as always. this bus terminal was always used for snowboard trips, i think i have never used a different terminal for snowboarding. all of these people in here are going to different snow resorts throughout japan. this time, our trip will be to madarao, a mountain area on the border between nagano and niigata.
for overnight bus trips, we usually have 3 toilet stops which have food stalls. and they allocate only around 15 minutes in each stop. but this time, they gave us more than 30 minutes on the first stop alone. that surprised us, it seems that they gave us ample time to have dinner. but did they expect us not to have dinner yet?
to my surprise, i had another friend on the bus. another long time friend here in japan. but it is just unfortunate that it was on an overnight bus, where is mostly just sleep on.
let me stop it here for now.
