pang peng ping-pong pung : November 17 2024
sunday and i was still contemplating on lots of stuff.
i told my self that i would just go to the gym to refresh and clear up some thoughts, 30 minutes of gym time would probably do.
that 30 minutes turned an hour.
this time, i was distracted by a table tennis match.
a ping pong, as what i usually call it, is not something i thought would distract me.
but these players were just so good.
it was some sort of an invitational competition and players from different parts of japan seemed to have a representative.
this one i witnessed was a team match between saitama and tokyo.
by team match, i mean that it will be 1 doubles and 4 singles.
and each game will be a best of five.
i am assuming that it will be the same as that one in olympics, not quite sure of the rules in this one i am watching but it sure looked like it.
the game started with the doubles match, and doubles are very much complicated as i recalled in my high school physical education class.
each member of the team alternately needs to hit the ball, and with a small table and a fast paced game, that can easily get jumbled.
at least that was how it was back in my day.
but these players are good, they easily manage to go in and out to take a hit.
and they do not hesitate to "smash"!
and smashes are very fast and quick, but they still manage to return the ball.
these athletes are amazing, i guess when you witness something that you do not do, you easily get amazed.
i could never dare to play like them.
in our class back then, i could still recall that our practical exam consisted of 4 parts: normal forehand, normal backhand, backhand smash, and forehand smash.
our teacher throws 10 balls in each part, and we had to hit those balls depending on the style.
the total number of balls you hit is your score, very scary.
i think i did bad back then, and i think i hit my hand on to the table a couple of times.
sports is not my forte.
did you also have sports class back in school?
what sports were you forced to play?
and what sports did you love?
brings back memories!
so seeing these athletes move like that and dive for a ball is awesome.
very agile and powerful at times.
the yellow team won 3 - 2 games in this doubles.
the singles matches came after but my one hour walking was done.
so at the end of the day, i do not know which team won.
when yesterday was volleyball day, today was ping pong.
i wonder what comes next?
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!

Sounds like a very high energy sport my friend!
I was never very good at ping-pong, my opponent would always slam one in, and I would miss!🙄
Awesome way to get @actifit steps!👍
i was also too slow for ping-pong. it gets hard to follow the ball at times
So very true…. It’s an interesting sport, but frustrating for me to play….. I always lose Lol!🤣😇☺️
