you will surely never know a person fully unless you live as that person.

that i learned long ago, and i needed a huge impact to open this short entry.
sorry for that, but that statement came back to me as i was amazed walking by a usual nightwalk route.
i surely did not know my route well even by the number of times i have passed by these places.

let us be sensual

yes, that was what i thought the moment i spotted this sculpture.
it was in front of a shrine, by the way, and yet the "holiness" was not able to mask the "sensuality" of this piece.

the pose came to me as sensual from afar, i had to come close and double check.
i was in awe, the pose was really something.
but then i saw the face; all i could see was peace.
is it not the face of someone who gave total control to someone?
is it not the face of a brave and confident individual who has nothing to hide?
and that made this sculpture more sexy and more captivating.

i really don't know why this sculpture was even there and i could not find any information about it.
here is a google map link of where i found it.

let us be old

i reached ueno park from there and here we are again with another surprise.
lanterns were lit on the major walkways.
i paid no attention to them at first, my eyes were specially weak at night.
until i looked close on one.

the lanterns had ukiyo-e prints on them, an artform that flourished in japan in centuries past.
woodblock prints!
of course these are just copies of the original plastered on lanterns which added to romance in the air.
don't lanterns give you that vibe?
the couple on my previous photo must have felt the vibe as well, they looked lovely as they strolled slowly, looking at the lantern's print and occasional glances of each other.
oh it must be the autumn air.

i also do not know why these lanterns were even there but no complaints here.
the nerd in me loved looking at each prints, i bent down on many to appreciate the beauty closely.
you can check ueno park's map in here.

as always, stay safe.
below is the route i took this time.
