first non-rainy day : September 2 2024
here my offering to god for finally having a fair and sunny day!
the sky so blue and clouds so great to look at, i am better suited for fair days for sure.
gloomy days makes me gloomy and grumpy.
this bread may not be enough for an offering; it was bought yesterday, one day stale.
surely not enough!
so i'll eat it for myself instead: cheese filled bun.
i was running late for my nightwalk, i had to go to the groceries for my supplies for the week.
and my housemate has requested that we go early to the gym, his work starts earlier than usual since two weeks ago.
so that left me with an hour and a half of free time, my only time to nightwalk.
that short!
so i desperately looked at google maps and searched for a possible route.
there were a couple of plans before but i can't do those in a short time.
so i settled for something close.
choosing busy roads, i finally settled on this path along the "nippori-toneri liner".
for a start, this train line is unmanned and runs just for a short distance compared to other train lines.
if i'm not mistaken, it only runs between two wards, the arakawa and adachi.
the creation of the line shortened travel times to 20 mins from the normal 60 mins by bus during rush hour.
i was only walking on the arakawa side of things, this train line was so high up, i initially thought that it was the highway.
even the stations were in the middle of the road but up there in the sky.
the roads were very wide in this portion of town.
i passed by two stations, both i have no idea what they look like; i have never rode the nippori-toneri liner.
continued my night walk until i reached the river, yes this road leads to the bridge over the river.
but my path is not over the river but to turn right.
a location of note was this small shrine which was apparently dedicated horses.
in the olden days, this area had a wide hayfield and old horses and old cattle were put down in the area close to this shrine.
i was impressed by what i saw, the place although small, was well maintained.
i continued my walk until the machiya area where i turned right once again.
this was a very familiar road, it is the closest entertainment area to home by foot; we visit a couple of shops here frequently.
i was just amazed by this one small building, two story tall, which was detached from the next structure.
it was old, to say the least, but still standing.
i have no idea if it sells something in the day time or even what it does, but it looked out of place amidst the new structures in the area surrounding it.
i'm sure that some developer is trying to convince its owner to sell or lease the lot, it will then be demolished and a new building will soon rise in this small strip of land.
probably the owner is still trying to haggle a bigger amount out of this small land; it is a prime location after all.
the last thing of note was visiting the liquor shop.
i was eyeing to buy some japanese whisky as a gift to a relative back home.
the prices were very surprising, a bottle of whisky can be as low as these in the picture and can go as high as 16 thousand yen.
i am no liquor expert and my relative is nothing but a mere drinker so sadly i and he wouldn't know the difference of high end products.
i just bought something in accordance to my budget.
for the untrained me, the bottle shape is a big decision factor.
today's walk was a regularly shaped path, with three somewhat straight edges.
the starting one, well i started walking while still deciding where to go.
that decision change made a rather unique point in this map.
this walk was but a short one, an hour and half on a 6 km path.

So nice to have blue sky and sunshine again! Today has been rainy half the day!
Your cheese bun looks yummy. You do walk a long distance at night. So lucky! The streets are lighted and safe. I would love waking at night too in this quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
Beautiful blue skies today, my friend!😊

First thing that really catches my attention Sir @itz.inno in your blog is the surroundings. It is really clean and looks very safe to jog or walk.
thanks for dropping by. oh yes, residential areas around here tend to be clean. as for crime, we will never know but they also tend to be safe even late at night.
