My Actifit Report Card: September 9 2024
Hivers! Today I want to show you my incredible and beautiful experience on the tracks of the "Tren del Encanto" A magical destination in complete abandonment. This Sunday I went out early on an expedition with friends and family wanting to go for a long time to this place that is relatively close to our homes, and really something indescribable what it feels like to be in the middle of mountains and see what years ago there were many trains that brought tourists or domestic people who lived in those areas. Let me tell you a little of this story:
The story of El Tren de El Encanto begins with the creation of the Great Railway of Venezuela in 1894, being the third railway station in the Caracas - Valencia direction.
In the early 1960s, the government decided to destroy all the railways in the country, due to pressure from the United States, which wanted to install its car factories in Venezuela. However, the inhabitants of Los Teques vigorously defended the stretch of El Encanto so that it would not be dismantled.
From that moment, the second rebirth of the El Encanto Train would begin, receiving thousands of seasonal workers every week and becoming a mandatory tourist destination for Venezuelans and foreigners who marveled at the trip.
The beginning of the tour began at Los Lagos station, located in the current El Encanto Train Park, from where the train left, taking the visitors inside the mountain. Passengers peeking through the windows delighted in contemplating the mountain ranges of Los Altos Mirandinos or by the great variety of plants that were only found in the enchanted mountain.
After a trip of seven kilometers, in which you could only hear the rattling of the train linked to the whistle of the steam coming out of the chimneys and the singing of the birds in the wind, energy, like an oasis in the middle of the natural place, the station of El Encanto.
When leaving the train, tourists could taste some of the typical foods of the place in the station restaurant or have a hot chocolate to cope with the mild climate. Afterwards, they went down to one of the three natural pools where they bathed and shared with family and friends.
Without a doubt a spectacular experience! It's already the second time I go to this place and I would like to go many more times!
