It's been 3 weeks since I spoke about my favorite football team and now it's time for a new speech because a special match was played again. Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray faced off in the Turkish Cup.

The Turkish Cup is actually not very important for both teams, the league is always taken care of and the cup matches are always played with a rotation squad, but when it's two of the biggest teams in Turkey, of course both teams will do their best to win the match. Both teams started the game with their starting line-ups and Galatasaray managed to win the game once again. It wasn't a fluke win, in fact the Galatasaray players were unlucky, as they failed to capitalize on many scoring opportunities. The match could have ended 1-5. Moreover, in my opinion, Fenerbahçe's goal was a great chance. If I watched the position 20 times I would still say it was offside, but it was a millimeter goal.

On the other hand, this match made history because Galatasaray won twice in Fenerbahçe's stadium in one season. I don't know if this has ever happened before, and if it has, I'm sure it's been many years. Until 6 years ago, Galatasaray hadn't beaten Fenerbahce in their stadium for 21 years and Fenerbahce had a huge advantage in derbies, now the tables have turned. Galatasaray seems to be much more superior both in the championship and in the matches played against each other. Speaking of the league, of course, this match was expected to have an impact on the fate of the league, because a defeat against your arch-rival demoralizes and demotivates the whole team. Nevertheless, in the match played two days ago, Fenerbahce won against Trabzonspor despite going behind and kept their championship hopes alive. Even though Trabzonspor has performed poorly this year, they have always been a formidable opponent for Fenerbahçe. There are still 3 points separating the two teams in the league, and with the double head-to-head advantage in favor of Galatasaray, we can say that there is a 3.5 point gap. There are only 8 weeks left in the league and every 3 points is very valuable. It is valuable not only for the championship but also for avoiding relegation. That's why we can't say that both teams have easy games.

The reflection of this match on Galatasaray's side was very positive. The team hadn't been performing well in recent games and they broke the pressure. The same goes for the coach Okan Buruk. I'm sure he feels a bit more relaxed. Galatasaray didn't have a league game the week after the Fenerbahçe game, so we will see how they will perform in three days' time. I hope they made the most of the break because in my opinion the championship is still not won. If Beşiktaş had won or at least drew the Beşiktaş game before the Fenerbahçe game then I would have said that Galatasaray had a huge advantage in the championship, but now it's not that easy. In the last eight games the team needs to bring back the successful performance of the first half of the league. Creative players like Yunus Akgün and Dries Mertens are very important here, because even if you don't always play with perfect fluidity, a goal from 25 meters or a surprise cross can win you the game.

What was talked about after the game, perhaps even more than the game itself, was Jose Mourinho's physical tackle on Okan Buruk. Mourinho came up behind Okan Buruk and pinched his nose. This is a shameful behavior in my opinion. It doesn't suit Mourinho's career. Although he has had similar behavior in the past. I think Mourinho is aware that he won't be punished much in Turkey and that's why he is so comfortable. He was only sentenced to 3 matches, which is ridiculous to say the least. He should have received a minimum of 5 matches and even Fenerbahce commentators agree with me. Mourinho's behavior will continue to escalate as long as he is not punished enough. I won't be surprised if he kicks a player or a manager in the next matches.

Türkiye kupası aslında iki takım için de çok önemli değil ve her zaman lig önemsenir, kupa maçlarına ise rotasyon kadrosuyla çıkılır ancak söz konusu Türkiye'nin en büyük iki takımının karşılaşmasıysa elbette iki takım da bu maçı kazanmak için elinden geleni yapar. Maça her iki takım da as kadrolarıyla çıktı ve Galatasaray bir kez daha maçı kazanmayı başardı. Şans eseri bir galibiyet değildi, hatta Galatasaraylı futbolcular şanssızdı diyebiliriz, pek çok gol pozisyonunu değerlendiremediler. Maç 1-5 de bitebilirdi. Üstelik bana göre Fenerbahçe'nin attığı gol büyük bir şans. Pozisyonu 20 kere izlesem yine de ofsayt derdim ama milimetrik bir şekilde gol oldu.

Öte yandan bu maç tarihe geçti çünkü Galatasaray bir sezonda iki defa Fenerbahçe'nin stadında kazandı. Bu daha önce gerçekleşti mi bilmiyorum, gerçekleştiyse bile çok uzun yıllar olduğuna eminim. Bundan 6 yıl öncesine kadar Galatasaray 21 yıldır Fenerbahçe'yi stadında yenemiyordu ve derbilerde Fenerbahçe'nin büyük bir üstünlüğü vardı, şimdi ise işler tersine dönmüş durumda. Galatasaray hem şampiyonluk konusunda hem de karşılıklı oynanan maçlarda çok daha üstün görünüyor. Ligden bahsetmişken elbette bu maçın ligin kaderine de etki etmesi bekleniyordu çünkü ezeli rakibinize karşı alınan bir mağlubiyet tüm takımın morallerini bozar ve motivasyonlarını düşürür. Yine de iki gün önce oynanan maçta Fenerbahçe geriye düşmesine rağmen Trabzonspor'a karşı kazandı ve şampiyonluk ümidini sürdürdü. Trabzonspor her ne kadar bu yıl kötü bir performans sergilese de Fenerbahçe'nin her zaman zorlu bir rakibi olmuştur. Ligde iki takım arasında hala 3 puan var ve ikili averaj Galatasaray'ın lehine olduğu için 3.5 puanlık bir fark olduğunu söyleyebiliriz. Ligin bitimine sadece 8 hafta kaldı ve şu anda ligde alınan her 3 puan çok değerli. Sadece şampiyonluk için değil aynı zamanda küme düşmemek için de değerli. Bu yüzden iki takımın da kolay maçının olduğunu söyleyemeyiz.

Maç bittikten sonra belki maçtan bile daha çok konuşulan şey ise Jose Mourinho'nun Okan Buruk'a fiziksel müdahalede bulunması oldu. Mourinho, Okan Buruk'un arkasından yaklaşıp burnunu sıktı. Bu bana kalırsa utanç verici bir davranış. Mourinho'nun kariyerine yakışmıyor. Gerçi geçmişte de buna benzer davranışları olmuştu. Bence Mourinho Türkiye'de kendisine çok ceza verilmeyeceğinin farkında olduğu için bu kadar rahat davranıyor. Kendisi sadece 3 maç ceza aldı ki bu en hafif tabirle çok komik. Minimum 5 maç ceza alması gerekirdi ve Fenerbahçeli yorumcular bile bu dediğime katılıyor. Mourinho'nun bu davranışları yeterince cezalandırılmadığı sürece dozunu artırmaya devam edecek. Önümüzdeki maçlarda bir futbolcuya ya da teknik direktöre tekme atarsa şaşırmayacağım.
