A Quick Walk While the Rain Took its Break
The weather isn't really friendly these days and it was mostly dreary today like the past two days. It was just good the whilst it was pouring heavily early in the day, it became a little more quiet later in the afternoon. I was to continue reading this book (How to Bounce When Others Break) which I started in the day but I decided to take the chance to get out of the house to give my wee legs some workout. The nerve on my left leg tends to bother me when I stay immobile for a long while.
The husband was taking a nap so I quietly went out. I first spent some time in the yard checking some of our plants and taking photos of a few of them.
The 3 seedlings of eggplants that we planted sometime ago are now flowering. I was mesmerized by their little purple blooms, some have been soaking in the rain but they are still holding up nicely. They are late bloomers I think. The others which we brought and planted at my father-in-law's place have been fruiting and they harvested quite a few times already. I'm guessing these are late because the soil where they grew here are quite new and have not been fertilized yet.
The shrub beside them is blooming too in yellow. Not all the buds have burst and it would be great to see them do so in the next weeks or so.
Farther away by the edge of the yard, the climbers which I have transplanted on upcycled plastic bottles some days ago are doing okay. They may still need to produce new roots but it's awesome that they are not wilting.
And from there, I proceeded towards the farm route where I usually stroll at. Of course, with my smaller umbrella which had a nice graphic that I could not resist taking photo of. Sky is still foggy.
Walking further, I noticed a boot print, a large one. Looks like someone went on a stroll ahead of me. I didn't see anyone by the farms though. And there's a centipede too! Whew! Who would have thought I'd see one today. I was tempted to poke it with a stick or something but dismissed the idea of bothering it so I just took its photo and moved on with my short adventure.
Also seen on my walk are these flowers. We call them Gladiola. I used to have some of it in the backyard but they are gone now and only the Hydrangeas remain.
And writing this reminded me I have not been at the back of the house for a long while! That is because there were overgrowth the last time I went and with the incessant rain, the grass and all the others may have grown taller even more.
We do need to clear them out when the weather gets better 'coz we intend to plant the purple corn which was given to us last week. So much for the zucchini that I had been wanting to grow there but Mr. P had been winning that I didn't make it happen.
Anyway, I did some jogging on coming back to the house. I wanted to sweat but the cold weather didn't make it possible. Took a shower while the hubby cooked and we just had dinner. Snooze time perhaps at 9? Will see. Power still out.
Photos are my own. 13th June/19:35ph

The thumbnail drew me in as if I was a butterfly 😅. The flower looks so pretty and it's colour is just right
Thank you. It's quite a fascinating flower.
