A Short Stroll on my Blue Umbrella
The sun was so bright this morning but I went for a stroll on my slippers and socks anyway. I had the large umbrella with me so it was okay. Even put up a short thread asking if others do the same thing - going for a walk and having an umbrella over their heads. Some said they do. Well at least it's quite common then.
I enjoy the sunshine and love it but my skin disagrees. I get some really itchy allergies when exposed to the sun so an umbrella usually keeps it from happening. This good ole blue one happen to be what I used on my walk.
Anyhow, I had a bit of fun on my little adventure and for the first time, I looked down the edge of one of the small farms which was stoll barren but the sloped wall of it had pumpkins that were thriving, some citrus trees and a corn even.
Also seen on my stroll is the tree branch that had been broken by the previous storm. The strong winds may have caused it just like how it damaged some vegetable crops in certain places and even had our power supply out and yet to be restored. Been 10 days already.
We read the destruction on the main plant was quite extensive but glad another electric company is lending some large power transformers so hopefully, it won't take long and our electricity will come back.
Also noticed a lone potato by the field, just yards away from the pumpkins. It was turning green so it may have been there for a while.
Did I mention it rained heavily the other day? I was just glad that the trail wasn't so bad. I did pass by a carrot field where the farmer had them thinned out and discarded along the path.
I somehow felt those tiny carrots have been wasted but it's just the way it is. They have to be thinned out or their yield sizes won't be of quality ones.
And because I love shadows, I got them too on camera. Might share more of them on the Shadow Hunter's challenge.
My day was mostly spent here on Hive, specifically on LeoThreads for the 3 Armies Battle. My wonky network however is limiting my online activities.
And lastly, sharing the day's glimpse of the sunset. I was at an unfortunate spot during my evening jog&run when I saw and captured this, hence this shot isn't good but sharing it anyway.
It's been a great day of course and weekend's coming, yay!

Protecting our skin from the blazing sun is a very wise thing to do but most times I don't take strolls with umbrellas; I either stay indoors or wait till the sun goes down.
That's true. I love the sun to be honest and if I didn't have allergies, I would bask under it.
I'm guessing you don't frequent the beach
Yes, not these few years since Covid. The family loves the beach and usually have it as our vacation place once or twice a year before. We shifted to the nearby resorts.
Oh that amazing then. At least you get to sun bask a little.
So these are what they look like when they aren't fully mature yet?
Yes. They are tinier than the pinky finger hehe
Wow wonders of nature
