Analysis
The pitch was flat and good for batting.
A very poor performance by the english batsman. They surely missed few of the regular players. The inexperience team could not handle the New Zealand bowlers.
England bowlers did well to restrict the New Zealand first innings score.
New Zealand on the other hand also missed few regular players due to injuries. They had made 6 changes. But, the changes did not affect their performance.
Infact, everyone took the responsibility and they played well as a team.
That is the reason, they are ranked first in the ICC rankings
New Zealand now take on India (ranked second in the ICC rankings) in the World Cup test final on Wednesday at Southampton, Jun 18 - 22 2021
I am eagerly waiting for the match.
Two strong teams playing to win the cup.
Match 2 - South Africa v/s West Indies - 1st Test, St Lucia
West Indies won the toss and elected to bat.
First Innings:
West Indies were all out for 97 runs
Excellent fast bowling by South Africa
In reply, South Africa scored 322 runs all out
A first innings lead of 225 runs
Second Innings
With a deficit of 225 runs, West Indies second innings did not start well
They kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. And were all out for 162 runs
Well short then the deficit.
South Africa won the match by an innings and 63 runs
Player of the match: Quinton de Kock
Analysis
West Indies is a very young inexperience team with a new captain. No match against the South African team.
The West Indian team has to up their game in the 2nd test.
South Africa bowlers did very well. The batsman also played their part.
A good overall performance by the South Africa team.
2nd test match will be played on 18th June.
Let's hope that West Indies can come back and win the match and tie the series.
