Where Will Messi Move To In The Summer Transfer Window

The January transfer window has been busy, we have seen a lot of nice signings and more are still to come before the window closes on the 31st of this month, but today I want to talk about Messi’s future after the season ends in June. Leo Messi is approaching his final months at PSG, the Argentina star signed for PSG in the summer transfer window in 2021, but it was not an easy exit for the Barcelona legend when the board decided to part ways with Messi.

According to the Barcelona board and President of the club Laporta, they were no longer able to keep Messi due to their financial issues and decided the best option was to let him go as a free agent, although Messi was ready to renew his contract and reduce his wage to stay at the club he has always loved up till today but things did not work out.

Messi signed for PSG in 2021 for a two-year deal and extension if he wants to continue at the club, Messi's contract is about to end and PSG has shown interest to renew Messi's contract and has already sent a proposal to the Argentina star but PSG is not the only ones willing to sign Messi in the 2023 summer window. Al Nassr local rivals Al Hilal have made an interest to sign Messi if he does not renew his contract with PSG.

Al Hilal are willing to pay more than what Al Nassr offered Ronaldo when he joined this January which is just crazy, it is clear Saudi Arabia wants to promote their league and give it more exposure so they can bid and have a chance to host a world cup tournament in 2030. Manchester City is also in the race to sign Messi, but they have not made their intention public yet to get Messi to join the club, it would be a cherry on top of ice cream for Manchester City's attack if Messi joins in the summer of 2023.

President Laporta of FC Barcelona has made it known that he loved the idea of Messi's returning home, Laporta has said in the future he will directly make contact with Messi and try to convince the world cup champion to return to Barcelona and end his career at the club. Messi returning back to Barcelona to me is a bad idea, I love Messi but I don't think he should return, the club is rebuilding and are finally playing well as a team but if Xavi wants him back then (which I know he does) it's up to him to set Messi up in his project.

It was reported by Fabrizio Romano that Leo Messi has not made any decision on his future yet until the end of the season, the Argentina star is more focused on winning the league and champions league with PSG and Ramano also confirmed Messi make likely to renew at PSG as the Argentina star seems to be comfortable at the club, well the final decision depends on Messi and we will find out when the season ends, I wish the best for Messi and I hope he makes the right decision for his future.
