The 2022 Ballon d'Or Ceremony
The biggest award event in the world of football took place last night in France, before the event there were a lot of speculations on why Messi wasn't nominated in the top thirty list for the men's Ballon d'Or, Ronaldo's fan base was all over Twitter trolling Messi calling him a finished player. I remember last year when Messi won his seventh Ballon d'Or the same fanbase came out and said the award is not relevant anymore, but this year as Ronaldo was ranked 20th on the list the award now seems to be relevant and not over-hyped 😂😂.
Anyways, the Men's Ballon d'Or had a new face that took home the award, the Madridista and Frenchman Karim Benzema won his first Ballon d'Or award in his professional career as a football player. There is no doubt he deserved the award this year, last season was Benzema's best season, the Frenchman scored 27 goals and gave 12 assists in Laliga Santander last season and in the Champions League, he scored 15 goals.
Benzema won the league trophy, Champions League, and the Uefa super cup with Real Madrid last season so there is doubt he was the one to be crowned the best player of the year. Aside from Benzema winning the Ballon d'Or order, awards were won last night at the event. In the Female Ballon d'Or category, Barcelona's own Alex Putellas won her second Ballon d'Or last night, a back-to-back win from Alex she was crowned last year and now taking the award home this year.
Benzema was not the only Real Madrid player who left the event with an award, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois won the Yashin Trophy as the best goalkeeper of the year, and he was a hugely important part of Real Madrid's success last season in all competitions.
Lewandoski won the Gerd Muller Trophy as the best striker of the year, a well-deserved award for R9, and more are still to come this season. Another Barcelona player won an award last night, Gavi won the Kopa Trophy as the best young star, Barcelona has just been blessed with amazing young stars, Pedri won it last year, and Gavi this year.
Sadio Mane who was in second place in the Men's Ballon d'Or, Mane won the Socrates award, following his remarkable humanitarian work, Mane has done a lot in his home country and for his people, he did it out of love and not so he would win an award, aways he got it and I am sure he is honored to take the award back home.
Manchester City won the best club of the year and Liverpool came in second, I still don't agree with the result. It should have been Real Madrid or the coordinator forgot how Madrid knocked down Manchester City in the champions league. Maybe they just want to give the most competitive league a trophy 👀👀👀.
So guys that will be all for now, once again thanks for stopping by.
Same here. Real madrid is the right candidate. They beat all the supergiants at last UCL.
Still trying to understand why Manchester City won that award, this I a big L from the coordinators.
The culmination of a great career ... the culmination of patience and development for success, a well-deserved golden ball for Karim Benzema
Hard work does pay off in the end.
I am a Ronaldo fan but I still think the ballan D’or has lost its value. I am not one of those fans who is biased or a hypocrite. I say what I got to say. A clear example was Manchester City winning the club of the year. How can city win the club of the year just by winning only the premier league. The team who won third was the same team that knocked both the first place and second place off the champions league.
A lot of people don’t rate it that much anymore but I was still happy to see Benzema win it. We all know he deserved it. I liked this years ballan D’or ceremony a lot, because aside handing the physical ballan D’or trophy to the players, they were also given nfts.
What this means is that they could literally sell their nfts for worth more and much more
Well I am disappointed with the coordinator, there is no doubt that Real Madrid should have the best club of the year.
Like Suarez in 2016 who deserved it but got robbed by Ronaldo😌🙂🙂
Like how Lewandowski deserved it last year but was robbed and given to messi? There were instances where we all thought the award should have been given to someone but it didn’t happen.
Messi robbed Lewy 😂😂😂
Yep and you know it 😂. We all know it
They have the highest number of players nominated for the balon d’or (male and female)
I watched the award because of Alexia Putellas and I'm happy she made history.
God save the Queen
I still have my doubts about the award to Manchester City being the best club in the world, Existing a Real Madrid that came from behind in the top Club competition and was the bridge to be the champion I think that was the biggest question mark at the gala, thanks for sharing your considerations.
