Senegal And Egypt Progress To AFCON Final

The AFCON it's at the last stage now, the tournament has been an amazing one filled with surprises. Senegal and Egypt have made their way into the finals, I never expected Egypt to reach the finals, they started slow and almost got knocked out several times. Senegal on the other hand was impressive, they never lost a match from the start of the competition.

Senegal took on Burkina Faso semi-final, beating Burkina Faso 3-1, Abdou Diallo opening the scoreline at the 70th minute and was assisted by the Napoli defender Koulibaly. Senegal was not done yet as they extended their lead six minutes later, I.G.Gueye who plays for PSG made it two for Senegal and was assisted by the Liverpool star man Sadio Mane.

It looked over for Burkina Faso but Ibrahim Blati Toure got on the end of a cutback from Issa Kabore and scored for Burkina Faso giving the Stallions hope for a comeback. But their hope got crushed at the 87th minute as Sadio Mane made a run down the defence and chipped the ball into the net and made it 3-1 for Senegal. Senegal is reaching the finals for the second consecutive time in a row.

Cameroon vs Egypt was one roller coaster ride for both sides, Cameroon who hosted the competition was knocked out by Egypt in a penalty shoot-out. The boot sides played a goalless 90 minutes and went on to extra time still, both sides were unable to score in extra time and headed to penalties.

The Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed Abougabal was phenomenal as he saved two Cameroon player penalties. Luck was on Egypt's side tonight, the goalkeeper was a second choice and had to feel in for the first-choice goalkeeper who fell ill. Unfortunately for Cameroon, their journey ends here they played well but luck seemed not to be on their side.

So it's going to be a showdown this Sunday between Senegal and Egypt, Mane vs Salah is going to be one hell of a match if I am to predict the winning, I would choose Senegal, as I said before luck has been on Egypt side I don't see them being competitive, this will be there the third match of the tournament going into extra time, hope they prove me wrong a win the title.
