Newcastle United Got Their Revenge Against Manchester United

Source

Newcastle has once again proven why they deserve to finish in the top four this season in the EPL. Yesterday Newcastle United played at home against Manchester United, it was a match I was looking forward to, and wanted Newcastle United to take all three points to move back to the top four.

Newcastle United got their revenge against Manchester United as they beat the red devils 2-0. Yesterday was the third time both teams faced each other, their previous meeting was in the EFL cup final which Manchester United won by 2-0 to secure their first trophy since 2017. It was heartbreaking for the Newcastle players but their fans gave them a standing ovation for their performance against United and also for reaching the final.

Back to the match, Newcastle United gave an outstanding first-half performance but failed to get a goal, they outplayed Manchester United and forced the reds to be on defensive duty because of their end-to-end counterattacks. The second half was still the same, Newcastle kept the pressure and it paid off in the 66th minute when they found the net.

Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle swung a cross into the box and found Allan Saint-Maximin who headed the ball to Joseph Willock, Willock finished it off as he headed the ball into the goalpost and scored the first goal of the match. Newcastle United sealed their win in the 88th minute from a free kick, Trippier crossed the ball into the box and Callum Wilson headed the ball into the goal post and made it two for Newcastle United.

It did not take long and the referee blew his whistle to end the match. Manchester United's performance was terrible, they only had one shot on target for the whole 90 minutes, this has to be the third-worst performance from Manchester United. It seems they have not recovered from the 7-0 loss against Liverpool because they have failed to win a game since that match.

Newcastle has moved to the third spot on the table, they still have two games in hand to play as well as Manchester United, Newcastle United have to focus more and work extra hard to make their dream of playing in the UCL a reality next season. So guys that will be all for now, thanks for stopping by, and have a good day.

they only had one shot on target for the whole 90 minutes,

Hehe, that shot on target was literally just a pass to the goal keeper by Anthony.

United looked clueless from start to finish and never looked like they could win the match. I thought since Newcastle couldn't get the first goal in the first half then Man United would have been better but they came out with the same attitude in the second half.

United really needed a humbling to go with how badly they played. They could have easily conceded 5 to 6 goals yesterday.

Well that’s what you get for playing players out of position. Why will you play a player like McTominay as an attacking midfielder and expect to get a results
