The transfer window has blown up in the last two days on the decision of Leo Messi's future. The World Champion has finally made his decision on his future, and it was shocking for football fans and especially Barcelona fans around the world. Leo Messi has decided that he will join the US club Inter Miami next season to continue his professional footballing career. The news took me personally by surprise because I was confident that Messi will return home, but it was not the case two days ago.

Inter Miami was in the race to sign Messi. They were not in the spotlight in the transfer saga. It was just between Barcelona and Al Hilal that was talked about much by the media as possible clubs for Messi to play next season. The contract Inter Miami proposes to Messi includes the following: 60 million euros per year, he shares the profits of shirts sold with his number, a share of Adidas profit, and a share of club ownership after retirement.

The offer by Inter Maimi is great, but not nearly as close to the 400 million Al Hilal was going to give the Argentinian if he had joined the club. Inter Miami have already made a short video of Messi joining the club, and their Instagram followers have increased from 1 million to 5.9 million in the last two days( Goat effect). The signing of the contract will be done soon as Messi's father is in the US to finalize the deal with the club.

Messi stated his decision to join Inter Miami. It was clear in his statement that he wanted to return to Barcelona, but Barca had not sorted some things out to make his return a reality. Messi said even though La Liga had given Barcelona the green light to bring him back to the club. The club had to sell some players and force a reduction in wages to be able to sign and register him in La Liga. Messi said he does not want to carry that burden knowing people had to sacrifice their pay just for Barcelona to sign him back.

The world champion also said he wants his future to be in his hands and not decided by others, and I agree with Leo. Looking back at 2021 it was the same thing he faced before he left the club, all the promises made by the board did not happen, and the Argentinian does not want his family to go through that phase again.
