FC Barcelona Starting Their UCL Campaign With A win

What a night it was at the Estadio Olimpico stadium for FC Barcelona. The Catalans had their first home game in the new UCL season against Belgium giant Royal Antwerp and it was a terrible night for the Belgium giant because Barcelona did not go easy on them and made sure they totally demolished the visitors at Estadio Olimpico stadium.

The first half rained with goals as FC Barcelona scored three goals before the end of the first 45 minutes. Joan Felix who made his first appearance as a FC Barcelona player in the UCL scored the first goal of the match. Joan Felix has now scored back-to-back as a starter which is impressive because he has quickly bonded with the team and knows the right time to shoot and make a pass to a teammate.

Chelsea made a mistake in letting Joao Felix go and should have purchased or got him on loan again. In the transfer window, Joao Felix made up his mind to join Barcelona and rejected contracts from Saudi Arabia clubs who were willing to pay double and I just found out today that Joao Felix cut down his wage to make his move to Barcelona happen. Joao Felix will earn 400,000 euros for the whole season during his loan time at Barcelona. This just shows how willing Joao Felix was to play as a Barca player and money was never the issue for the young Portuguese star.

Back to the game last night. Joao Felix scored two goals and gave an assist, Lewandoski scored a goal, Gavi got a goal and an own goal was scored. There were many chances missed by Lewandoski because he could have gotten a hat trick last night but it was not Lewandoski night. Lewandoski still seems to be struggling a little but I am sure soon R9 will get his top form back.

It was an important night for Gavi as he scored his first Champions League goal. Gavi is an incredible young player and his energy is unmatched. This kid can put his head in a dangerous position just to claim the ball back and hate losing, his energy is so high that rival fans especially Real Madrid make it their life's mission to taunt him but Gavi doesn't let those hate get to him and does his job on the field.

On October 4 the boys will face FC Porto away from home. Porto could be a challenge for Barca but I know the Catalan Giant will pull through and secure the three points. So guys that will be all for now and don't forget to check the remaining matches in the UCL this evening. Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening.
