The rumors of Karim Benzema leaving Real Madrid have been confirmed by the club today. Fabrizio Romano put out the news four days ago on Twitter. When I saw the news I had doubts because Benzema was ok at Madrid, and the club was ready to extend his contract. Real Madrid's offer was on the table, and they needed Benzema's approval before they start processing the final stage of the contract but Benzema's mind was already in Saudi Arabia.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed Benzema was approached by Saudi Arabia club Al Ittihad, and the proposal Al Ittihad had summited to Benzema's camp was close to 100 million euros plus benefits per season, which honestly is a tempting offer. Saudi Arabia clubs are not playing in the transfer market, and the only thing stopping these Saudi clubs from getting any player they desire is the player's decision. Aside from that they are ready to break the bank to get these players to their clubs.

Karim Benzema has won every major trophy in La Liga and has also made history with Real Madrid in the champions league. The Frenchman has won four La Liga titles, Three Copa Del Rey titles, Three Spanish Super Cup titles, Five Uefa Champions League trophies, Four Uefa Super Cup trophies, and five Fifa Club World Cup trophies. The Frenchman also won the prestigious Ballon d’Or award last year and has put his name in the history books of the best players in the world.

Benzema will say goodbye to Real Madrid fans after he plays his last game today at the Santiago Bernabeu against Athletic Bilbao. Benzema will forever be part of Real Madrid's history as one of the best players to play for the club, and I wish him the best in his new chapter in Saudi Arabia. With Benzema leaving, Real Madrid will be active this summer window to get a replacement for Benzema's position.

There are many names on Madrid's list, and the ones I can confirm are Harry Kane and Kai Havertz as both players seem to be the favorite on Madrdi's list. It is a big opportunity for Harry Kane to step up his career, and move to a team who are serious about winning trophies. Kane should let go of clingy to Tottenham and move on, he has given his best for the club and deserve better for a player of his caliber.

Kai Havertz is a good player, but will he be able to deliver and feel in Benzema's shoes? The pressure might get to him, and this could cost him to lose his form which Real Madrid can't afford. They won’t want another Hazard on their hands so they have to make a careful decision before making their move to sign him into the club. In the coming weeks, more information will come to light on the striker hunt for Real Madrid, but for now, I say goodbye and have a lovely afternoon.
