Barcelona's Back Line
FC Barcelona is eight points clear of Real Madrid in the La Liga table which is no new news, today I want to talk about the team and how they have bounded so well and delivered a top-notch performance each matchday. Barcelona's defense is currently the best in Europe, they have only conceded six goals in twenty league matches and have kept a record of fifteen clean sheets which is a huge record, that shows the defenders have been working extremely hard in each match.
Ter Stegen has been amazing this season and is back to being the best, although he was not too busy at the goal line because of the quality of the defense when he is needed to make important saves he rises to the challenge. Ter Stegen's form in the last two seasons was horrible and there was a time every Barca fan wanted him out of the club but today he gets praise in every match. Xavi has made it clear he trusts Ter Stegen and he will be a key player in his project.
Barcelona's back line comprises Kounde, Araujo, Andres Christensen, and Balde. The players mentioned have been the best in holding the defense and have each made a significant impact on the squad. Kounde joined Barcelona in the summer transfer window from Sevilla, and since he arrived at the club he has been outstanding. Xavi plays him more as a Right Back which is not his natural position but has succeeded in playing the role well, the Frenchman is enjoying himself in Barca and has bounded with his teammate, and believes Barca will get the best of him for years to come.
Ronald Araujo the warrior, if you don't know this young talented central back then you don't know ball, Araujo is one of the best defenders in the world his passion for Barca on and off the pitch is just unmatched. Araujo has been crucial in his role in the defense and has become a regular starter for Xavi and a key player in Xavi's defense strategy, he is just 23 and has become an essential player for Barcelona for all I know he has not reached his prime yet, and would be tougher at the defense.
Andres Christensen's form in Barcelona has surprised me and many Barca fans, this was the same guy Chelsea fan base claimed was not good enough but in Barca, he has been great, his passing is top-notch, and his defensive ability and timing are also top-notch and most interesting part is Barca got him for free last year in the summer window. Xavi has praised Christensen and admitted Christensen has earned his place in the starting lineups, we are going to be seeing more of him on the pitch.
Barcelona La Masia player Balde has earned his place in the first team, the youngster has been called up in important matches and keeps giving outstanding performances. Balde is the likely replacement for Jordi Alba at left-back and with the matches that have watched him play there is no doubt he is suited for the role in the future. The players mentioned deserved credit for the great job they are doing at the defense this season.
