Super Kooks Documentry I Cameo In

(Edited)

What seems like ages ago now, I met a budding new filmmaker named James Gillcrest. The interesting thing was that I had been hearing the name Gillcrest all throughout the longboard world, but it was in reference to a female rider. Little did I know at the time, that they were brother and sister, and this would end up leading to this amazing longboard documentary from a outsiders perspective.
I really must hand it to James, because he did an absolute incredible job in capturing the essence of the longboard world, and he did so like he was an embedded journalist following a platoon of soldiers in a war. Except with out all the war, and just a battle of the brave, verse gravity and asphalt!

While I only show as a small cameo at the famous Stoop, I did actually skate around with him, and show him around Vacouver a bit. I'm assuming that since I'm not a pro racer, that I just didn't fit into the narrative he was focused on. Back then I believe I was telling him about SteemSkate, but he's been following since then, and staying in touch. Maybe we can convince him to do a Super Kooks 2, sponsored by SkateHive, and Gnars DAO.

Bzzzrrr, what a sick doco, @howweroll! You shred the gnar and brought some fresh blood to the longboard scene. Stoked you got to hang with James and show him the rad spots in Vancouver. The battle of brave vs gravity and asphalt is real, but also so dope. Can't wait for Super Kooks 2, dude!
