Hive FPL Head to Head League GW10 Previews
Welcome back to another addition of the Hive Head to Head Fantasy Premier League.
First things first, don't forget that there is a Friday night fixture this week!
I'm sure we've all had that horrible feeling when we log in to our FPL accounts on a Saturday morning in order to make a few late alterations, only to discover that the Premier League snuck in a match the evening before and we're now stuck with a less than ideal squad for this game week.
Last week saw some real monster scores, as you can see in the results below, courtesy of many of the popular attacking picks getting on the score sheet. In fact, 4 teams breached the 100 point mark with @skanderh setting a new season high for the Hive FPL of 109 points.
This week, there is the Manchester derby which muddies the water in as far as which players from those 2 clubs will put points on the board. You'd imagine that United will be cautious in their approach while City have hardly been setting the world on fire in recent matches.
Elsewhere though, several clubs do have very appealing home matches with Liverpool entertaining Forest, Villa welcoming Luton and Arsenal playing at the Emirates against Sheffield United. In an ideal world, managers will having attacking options in their XI to take advantage of all 3 of these games.
GW9 Results
Prizes for winners of last week's head to head matches will be sent later today.

Defeats for both teams in GW9 left them 3 points off top place and with a real log jam of 6 teams on 18 points it means that defeat again in GW10 is likely to cut them further a drfit.
Legion FC appear to have forgotten to update their team for GW9 but that does of course mean they'll have 2 free transfers to play with for this one.
One of the key fixtures in deciding this tie will be the Manchester derby. Both teams unsurprisingly have Haaland but they also have multiple other attacking options spread across both sides. Pep set up with a very defensive mindset when City went to Arsenal earlier in the month. Will we see something similar in this game or might we get a more open contest where those attacking options can prosper?
Defensively both sides have plenty of options who play at home this weekend and could well be a good bet for clean sheets.
@shamzy v @yagman01
It's a top of the table clash! Shamzy FC are 3 points clear in 1st place but come up against Yagman FC who have recorded the highest total points of any side in Division 1 this season and are breathing down their opponents necks. It's far too early in the season to call this a decider but on current form you'd have to say that both these sides are going to be up amongst the challengers at the end of the season and the 6 point swing either way from this fixture could have an impact on final league positions.
Shamzy FC opted to play their 1st wildcard for GW9 and have gone for a few form players in the likes of Neto, Palmer, Maddison and Watkins who could all make a difference in this one
Yagman FC still have their 1st wildcard up their sleeve. Could this be the week that they decide to use it or do they continue with the principe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it?
@talesfrmthecrypt v @amirtheawesome1
Both teams recorded 83 points last week but while The Amirians got a much needed win, it was a nother defeat for Suffragette City leaving them rooted to the bottom. In fact, the points haul for both sides in recent game weeks has been very similar. Could this be the match that we get our first draw of the season?
The differentials for this one are most pronounced at the back. The Amirians will presumably hope that Sanchez can overcome his howler against Arsenal when Chelsea face West London rivals Brentford while Suffragette City will hope that Areola has gotten over the shell shock of Villa Park when West Ham face as less fluent Everton side.
Otherwise, Lascelles and Burn might just cancel each other out as Newcastle travel to Wolves while Udogie and Andersen will go head to head in the Palace v Spurs game on Friday evening.
@pvmihalache v @vickoly
There are a lot of differentials between these 2 sides but what is most noticeable about both teams is that their last couple of weeks have seen them deliver under-average scores.
Neither side has played their wildcard yet so the managers will need to ponder whether this down turn in results is just a temporary blip or whether their squad is in need of some more significant changes.
Certainly Augment FC will need to bring in defensive reinforcements with only 2 available defenders for GW10.
Content Creators will be hoping that their 3 Arsenal players can fire against Sheffield United this weekend. Martin Odegaard has 48 points so far this season and 28 of them have come from 2 games against weaker opposition in Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. Is this another chance for the Norwegian flat-track bully to come to the fore?
@belemo v @blockchainfpl
2 wins on the bounce have propelled Blockchain FPL off the bottom of the table and with a points haul of 96 last week and their squad revamped courtesy of the wildcard, they'll be hoping to make it 3 in a row.
The big call in that reshuffle was to drop Haaland, making Blockchain FPL the 3rd team in Division 1 to leave out last seasons golden boot winner and a player who already has 9 Premier League goals this season. Haaland's price tag was always likely to mean that he wouldn't be a certainty for every squad all through the season but let's see if the risk pays off in the short term.
Blockchain FPL's strength then lies in the acquisition of 2 in form midfielders in Salah and Son but Inzanagi FC also have options in that area with Saka and Neto. There may be fitness concerns around the Arsenal man but he has made a goal contribution in 7 out of the 8 EPL matches he's played this year while Neto has been similarly consistent with a goal involvement in his last 7 EPL matches.
@deniskj v @teofilex11
2 teams currently moving in opposite directions in the league meet in a very important fixture in GW10. Last seasons champions I Feel Qatari have endured a tough start to this season but can feel somewhat aggrieved to have only won 2 of their H2H matches to date.
Meanwhile Likodra FC cemented a 2nd win in as many weeks courtesy of their wildcard which helped deliver a whopping 104 points in GW9. Again, they've opted to take Haaland out of the squad and use the funds to strengthen elsewhere.
Salah then could be a key differential in this match with Liverpool hosting Nottingham Forest. Likodra FC will also hope that that a couple of their high price defensive assets in TAA and Zinchenko can also benefit from favourable home fixtures in GW10.
In fact, overall Likodra FC have a squad that can enjoy home advantage to a far greater extent than I Feel Qatari can. Will that be a defining factor in the outcome of this head to head?
@elmose v @borran
Espada Numero Uno can feel somewhat aggrieved that their haul of 84 points in GW9 wan't enough to end their losing streak while their opponents today ended their own 3 match winning streak with a fairly disappointing total last time out.
There aren't many differentials in defence between these 2 sides but that is as much due to unavailability of the players in the respective squads and we may therefore see changes in that department.
The game looks most likely to be won in midfield where Espada Numero Uno are banking on West Ham to get the job done against an Everton side, who if reports are to be believed, won't be in the Premier League much longer. Hiveheadz certainly hold an advantage in the sense that all 4 of their midfield differentials play at home this weekend, although for Sterling and Rashford, those games come in tough looking derby fixtures.
@martinlazizi v @nonsowrites
Both sides matched each others points haul in GW9 so expect this one to be a tightly fought fixture.
You'd say that Nonz FC hold an edge in as far as the defences are concerned, if nothing else because they do have options, with Lazz reliant on 2 Chelsea assets and without the injured Botman,
Nonz FC will presumably look to move for a replacement for the injured Isak upfront and could well plump for his Newcastle strike partner Callum Wilson who is now guaranteed game time in a side that is looking increasingly fluent in attack.
@gvkanten v @mckane
One key factor in this match (all matches really) will be the captain pick. FC McKane have been incredibly loyal to Haaland, selecting him as captain in 8 out of the 9 game weeks played so far. By contrast, Hungry Lions haven't picked the same captain twice in a row since GW4.
Another observation about the Hungry Lions is there willingness to take a points hit by using more than their free transfer(s) every week. In addition to having already played their first wildcard, they've also had points deducted in half of the remaining 8 GWs due to the number of transfers made. Are they going to shuffle the pack again for this one?
FC Mckane will be hoping that Mitoma can return to form. The Japanese winger has blanked in 4 of the last 5 weeks but Brighton do at least have a more favourable fixture at home against Fulham this week. The same can also be said of Villa's Diaby who has blanked in 3 out of the last 4 weeks but has a very appealing run of fixtures between now and the next international break starting with a home game against Luton.
@pappyelblanco v @ipalibo
Both teams are moving up the table thanks to a couple of wins in recent weeks. However, it's Whyte FC that have been the most impressive of late including a 101 point haul last time out.
There are plenty of differentials across these 2 sides. In fact, the only common players they share are Haaland, Salah and Areola, 3 of the most heavily picked players across the game.
Whyte FC look like they are somewhat tied to the fate of Spurs in the Friday night game. Both Son and Maddison are in good form but they should expect a well organised Palace team to make things tough for them tonight, Similarly, there are fitness concerns over Udogie who was taken off after 55 mins on Monday's game against Fulham.
If Udogie is not fit then it would certainly give Creekside FC an even greater advantage in defence where they'll hoping that the likes of Romero, Saliba and Trippier can all deliver clean sheets.
However, Whyte FC certainly do hold the edge upfront with the inform Watkins and Alvarez available. By comparison, Creekside have Antonio who hasn't scored since August and Woodrow who hasn't scored a Premier League goal since 2014!
