Hive FPL - Game Week 4 Match Analysis & Key Stats
Was it a predictable week? Were you surprised none of the top 6 last season dropped points? Did you maximize the opportunity by gaining alot of points and climbing the Hive Fpl ladder?
Well, With my analysis the table within the Hive FPL mini-league remains very very tight despite a predictable football week.
That being said the dynamics of the game are about to change significantly as teams would now play again in the middle of the week. Alot of talking points, Let's dive into it, Shall we?
Man United now have back-to-back wins as they emerged victorious at St Mary's Stadium. It ended just 1-0 however, Erik ten Hag's side looked more confident on the ball and also looked better defensively. The win saw them move away from the bottom half of the premier league table. For Fpl managers, It was a bit surprising that Man United kept a clean sheet this week. Since the manager dropped the club's captain Harry Maguire [DEF] and Luke Shaw [DEF], The defense looked better and a bit more tempting to consider.
Bruno Fernandes [MID] provided a neat finish to secure three points for the Red Devils. If Man united keeps the flame on, He is certainly one to watch out for.
If you are considering adding a Man united defender to your squad, A look at their upcoming fixtures might change your mind.
We spoke about Joe Aribo and his threats in the last preview, He had alot of chances and was denied by United keeper David de Gea.
Diogo Dalot [DEF] was the best player on the field as his presence was felt everywhere. He amassed a total of 11 points.
The game might have ended in a stalemate however, the home side was dominant in the encounter. According to Brentford's manager Thomas frank, "There can only be one winner, 99 times out of 100 in terms of the chances we created, I know it gets more difficult when you're 1-0 down but in general, I'm pleased, we gave very little away, there was a mistake for their goal but from then on we were on top of the game - and the mentality in this team, it's the third time we've come back in five games. Remarkable."
While the mistake leading to Everton's goal might have favored 1.5% Fpl managers, Frank Lampard was pleased with the commitment of Anthony Gordon [MID] who has been on the news concerning his status at the club. The midfielder maintained his composure and gave Everton the lead.
It looked like Everton would steal a win from the hosts after Mathias Jensen, Ivan Toney and Christian Norgaard all struck the woodwork however, the home side was rewarded with a point after Janelt's scored in the 84th minute.
Brighton’s Pascal Gross (£5.8m) was at it again after scoring the winner against Leeds on Saturday. The Brighton Midfielder is one to watch as he has scored three times already this season. He is among the top FPl midfielders after claiming his second double figures of the campaign. Would you consider him in your next game week squad?
Leandro Trossard [MID] is another player that stood out in the game as he should have scored. Danny Welbeck [FWD] was another Brighton player who stood out as he played a very important role in the game and also in the goal.
Many Fpl Managers would be disappointed with Leeds's performance especially Rodrigo's. The Midfielder had a quiet afternoon which saw him transferred out by 53,000+ Fpl Mangers.
It was a very surprising and resilient performance from Chelsea as they held their Nerves at Stamford Bridge to win against Leicester. It looked like it was going to be a bad day at the office when new boy Conor Gallagher was sent off after less than half an hour for two bad fouls.
However, Raheem Sterling [MID] scored both his first and second Chelsea goals, Luring over 77,000+ Fpl Managers.
It is very important to note that Chelsea is very effective on the flanks as both left back Cucurella and right back, Reece James provided the assists for sterling.
Reece James [DEF] now has a total of 22 points and is one of the most selected defenders as he is backed by a whopping 44%.
Leicester have failed to win any of their opening four games to a Premier League season for the first time since 2003/04. Brendan Rogers considers his side unlucky as he feels they should have taken at least a point against a 10-man Chelsea.
Liverpool equals the biggest Premier League win record against Bournemouth. The last time Liverpool won with this margin was against Crystal Palace in September 1989.
Yes, Liverpool won big however the bigger surprise was Mohammad Salah. According to the official fantasy premier league statistics, More than 3.3m FPL managers gave the armband to Salah who ended up not scoring or assisting. The Egyptian backers would be disappointed as he was the only forward not to have contributed to the demolition of the newly promoted side.
Another regret many fpl managers would have was selling the Liverpool right back. More than 495,000 FPL managers parted company with Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m) ahead of the Gameweek 4 deadline, making him the second most-sold player. The defender ended up with 17 points!
Not much to say about Parker's Bournemouth team as they still look like a championship side with no real fight.
Erling Haaland hat-trick inspired an interesting comeback for the defending champions against crystal palace. It looked like Man City was heading for their first defeat after being two goals down at the break. A crystal palace side without Wilfried Zaha was set to do the impossible after going 2-0 up against the champions. An Own Goal by John stones from a deflected free-kick couple with a brilliant Andersen header left the home side with a lot of work at the break.
Erling Haaland scored a 20-minute hat-trick which inspired man City to a 4-2 victory. Captained by 1.7M fpl managers, Haaland proved yet again that he is the best option when it comes to a choice concerning the Arm-band. His rivals, Jesus and Salah can't say the same.
Not many noticed that inform player maker Kevin De Bruyne also blanked leaving his role in many teams a cause for concern.
4 wins out of 4 matches played see Mikel Arteta's side yet again at the top of the premier league table. It was a very interesting match against Fulham. The home side dominated the game from kick-off and was patiently building and planning to score. It ended goalless at the break after a fine performance by former Arsenal Keeper Leno who made some important saves. The second half started with the home side dominating the game until something happened.
Aleksandar Mitrovic [FWD] stole the ball from sloppy Gabriel and slotted In the first goal of the game. The goal immediately created an intense game as the home side fought hard to get back into the game.
Club's new captain Martin Odeegard [MID] was on the scored sheet again as he provided another double-figures return. He is now among the top three Midfielders in the fantasy premier league.
While Gabriel made up for his error by scoring the winner, it was his fellow defender that was on the headlines again. William Saliba has combined a goal and assist with two clean sheets in his first four outings, collecting two bonus points on three occasions.
West ham finally recorded a win thanks to a Pablo Finals goal. It was an average performance by both sides however, the final deflected effort was enough to give the hammers 3 points.
Steven Gerald was booed by the fans and would need to turn things around without playmaker Coutinho. The Brazilian has forced off an injury during the game and would most likely miss the next couple of games.
The match was heading for stalemate before the hammers struck. Both sides would have to improve their game as they both face a top 6 side next.
Allan Saint-Maximin [MID] Volley was enough to rescue a draw at Wolves. Newcastle had conceded In the 38th minute to a brilliant effort from Ruben Neves in a very nice link-up play.
Pedro Neto is yet to perform this season and 68,000+ managers have transferred him ahead of their next match against Bournemouth. Is that a good decision, considering Bournemouth's weak defence?
Newcastle played the match without new record signing Alexander Isak who completed a £59 million move. He is expected to get his work permit before the next game week.
When wolves threatened, They did so with Raul Jimenez [FWD], The forward looked sharp all game and was denied by the VAR in the 81st minute when he put the ball in the net. His effort was clean however, his teammate Pedro Neto had fouled Ryan Fraser in the build-up.
Spurs maintained their unbeaten start to the season as they beat newly promoted forest 2-0 in a relatively easy contest.
Harry Kane [FWD] scored a brace with one goal in each half. Popular Fpl pick Son Heung-min [MID] has failed to return points and 150,000+ fpl managers have said goodbye to the player already.
Ivan Perisic [DEF] (£5.5m) was among the most-sold players in Gameweek 2 but since then has managed to convince us with his play in recent times. He was on the back of another assist and kept a clean sheet which amassed his total points of the campaign to 23!
Nottingham Forest didn't sit back surprisingly. The home side had more possession and had about 17 shots however they were less threatening as only one of the shots was on target.
You can't talk about the Nottingham Forest side without mentioning Dean Henderson [GK]. He once again saved a penalty, this time from Harry Kane. With super shot-stopping skills of his, Over 52,000 Managers have transferred him in ahead of game week 5. Henderson has a total of 30 points which is brilliant considering that he is getting the points individually.

This one is a pretty detailed analysis. Thanks 😍
Glad you enjoyed it
FPL is giving me headache 🤣🤣😂. How can Gabriel Jesus and Salah do me like this? It's very painful to say the least.
😂🤣 sorry. You can't predict how these players would fare no matter how much you try.
That's the beauty of it...the unpredictability of things.
I agree.
Haha there are always difficult momements in the season. Stay strong mate
Very painful but we keep pushing. Thank you 🤗

Haaland is taking the EPL by storm and I hope Salah can also rise up to the challenge. Gabriel Jesus didn't help my point tally for the week.
I think it is time to squeeze him into my team, Jesus ain't doing the needful. I don't know why he can't emulate our Lord Jesus, the man who doesn't disappoint.
😂 na disappointment full this fake Jesus body o. Na why e dey mess up. Our real Jesus no dey disappoint.
Let's hope the fake Jesus is inspired by the real Jesus to make things happen this weekend, I somehow sneaked Haaland in, not a smart move but I hope I don't regret it.
😂🤣 I can imagine your fear. These players are just tricky
Salah and Jesus broke hearts last week but overall, we expect them to be consistent performers in their individual teams
Consistency is what we need. Salah isn't up for it yet but let's hope so.
It was a great weekend but a disappointing one as well because Salah and Jesus failed to turn up while Manchester City's defense crumbled.
It could have been one of the best weeks for me if Salah scored and Manchester City kept a clean sheet. We move on to midweek, things would definitely get better.
It's incredible that Liverpoool scored 9 goals and he didn't have a single goal involvement.
It was really annoying, with no goal or assist. That's very unusual of Salah and I hope he turns up against Newcastle in the midweek match.
First time reading the GW Summary here, i really like it!
Glad you enjoyed it mate
Great breakdown analysis. With so many great and well-priced midfield attacking options, I am thinking of changing formation from 5-3-2 to 4-4-2. Captaincy is an interesting choice this week, Salah or Haaland???? Good luck!
Lots of people are probably losing interest in keeping Salah
Mo Salah must be so hurt ! Trent the rejected stone 🤦🏿♂️
Interesting weekend .. coyg!!
Salah hurt us all
nice
Thank you mate

The majority had great gameweeks, but mine wasn't so great. Salah, who I'd hoped would perform dissapointed, same with Jesús, and also Son who I binned this gameweek, I'm hoping gameweek 5 is better.
