Hive Fantasy World Cup - Third Place and Final Review

The Qatar 2022 World Cup has indeed been a fantastic spectacle filled with amazing football, twists and turns in footballing tales, upsets of significant proportions, the creation of legends and lastly the cementing of the legendary status of some of football's great in our hearts and mind. Sadly all good things come to an end and so does the 2022 World Cup but first, we would have 2 electrifying fixtures.

The first fixture is the third-place game taking place on Saturday the 17th of December 2022, which is also a repeat of the Group F opener and then the Finals of the competition between Messi's Argentina and the defending world champions France.

Before we go into the intricacies of the fixture, we would first like to say a big thank you to everyone that has supported and taken part in the Hive Fantasy World Cup 2022, without you all it wouldn't have been such a resounding success.

Lastly, I would like to say a very hearty congratulations to the eventual winners which are probably already known.

The Final Weekend Fixtures

These 2 teams were arguably one of the most technically advanced teams in the competition, and the fact that they made it to the semifinals is a testament to their mettle. they both were solid in all their games leading to the semis and showed true grit throughout the competition. Unfortunately, they were knocked out of the competition by the eventual finalists, but the memories they made in this World cup are ones the world will not forget in a hurry.

Croatia were a finalist in the 2018 World Cup and was just a game shy from making it to a consecutive final. Their heroics against the competition favourite Brazil still live rent-free in the heads of so many around the World. They were led by their diminutive captain and leader Luka Modric, who was excellent at rallying the troops and leading from the front. Their goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic has made a great appeal to be given the Golden glove award.

Morocco on the other hand has done the entire African continent proud by becoming the first African nation to make it to the last 4 of a World Cup event. The entire African continent is proud of all their efforts and even more proud is the nation of Morocco.

The third-place game is going to be hard fought as these two have already met in a goalless draw in the Group F opener. Hopefully, we would see more excitement in this game and hopefully more goals.

The 2022 World Cup Finals

This is a very important and somewhat sentimental match for so many of us as it is probably the last chance for Lionel Messi to win the World Cup. It would also be the first time since 1966 for any team to win a consecutive World Cup if France could become eventual winners.

A lot can be said about this particular fixture, and lots of predictions have already been made but the eventual outcome is one that we would find out tomorrow.

There is very little reason to go into lots of details about this game because I am certain it was one that already sends chills down our spines.

I wish both teams a tonne of good fortune and hope that the best team wins.
