We went to Tokyo Dome City Attractions with my elder son’s friends from his daycare days and their mothers—my mama-tomo (a term referring to the mothers of my son's friends, whom I have known since his daycare days). I also brought my younger son along.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of amusement parks and would never voluntarily choose to go. However, this time was special—it was a gift for the kids to say, “Great job on your entrance exams” and “Congratulations on your graduation.”
For my elder son and his friends, this will probably be the last time we, as parents, take them out to play like this. Once they enter junior high school, they will likely start going out with friends on their own, and I hope that they do.

Tokyo Dome City does not have an entrance fee system; instead, you need either individual tickets or an unlimited ride pass to enjoy the attractions. I initially thought I wouldn’t be riding anything myself, but since many of the rides required an accompanying guardian for my younger son due to his age, I had no choice but to buy a free pass.
Since my younger son wanted to ride them, I ended up accompanying him on the Viking ship and another thrill ride. And honestly… I just don’t understand why people pay money to experience the feeling of their organs almost flying out 😂

We also rode the Ferris wheel, but as expected, I’m still not good with heights. My younger son also seemed to find it higher than he expected—before we even reached the halfway point, he had already lowered his head and was making sure not to look outside at all.

One interesting thing about the Ferris wheel was that every gondola had a karaoke machine inside. The selection of songs was quite limited, so you couldn’t sing just anything, but my elder son and his friends found their graduation ceremony song in the history log and sang it together. As for me, in an effort to distract my frozen-in-place younger son, I also searched through the history and ended up singing Let It Be by The Beatles 😂

Singing Let It Be at a height of 80 meters for my completely frozen younger son… Honestly, it was a rather surreal experience.

Even though my elder son and his friends went to different schools and were sometimes in different classes over the six years of elementary school, it was heartwarming to see how easily they fell back into playing together, just like the old days. Childhood friendships really are something special.

As for me, I felt completely at ease with my daycare-era mama-tomo—there are only three of them, and they are truly precious friends!

One of my mama-tomo, who is Chinese, is a very energetic person. She said, “Since we bought the free pass, let’s make the most of it! 💛” and enthusiastically invited me to ride a few more attractions with her. In the end, I couldn’t help but appreciate her enthusiasm.

Yesterday, I walked a lot—over 12,000 steps! Putting the rides aside, seeing the kids having fun made it all worthwhile. I hope junior high school brings them plenty more joyful moments!

Hi @, it's not the first time I tell you, I love the pictures you take. From what I have read and seen it was a great day among friends and a great day for the kids. I have also noticed that spring has arrived over there 🌞. It keeps raining and cold here 🙁.

Best regards, @go-kyo.

Glad you enjoyed my photos. I have been taking photos a lot since I started posting on Hive. I don't have a camera, use my iPhone.

Oh, it is still cold there, Tokyo was quite warm today. I can't wait for the real spring!
