Fear of earthquakes & feedback on Actifit app / 地震が怖い & Actifitアプリへのフィードバック (My Actifit Report Card: August 9 2024)

In Japan, a Nankai Trough Earthquake Temporary Information has been issued. In short, it is a warning that a huge earthquake may occur, and people are advised to stock up on water and food, and to check evacuation sites and routes. Some trains will be suspended or run at reduced speeds for the next week or so.
Monday is a national holiday, making it a three-day weekend for the public, and after that, it will be the Obon season, and many people may be planning to return home or take a trip. It is unfortunate and frightening that an earthquake might occur at such a time.
Just yesterday, I was informed by his daycare teacher that my second son's "evacuation shoes" were out of size, so I went to buy a pair. If a disaster occurs while he is at preschool, he is supposed to evacuate not with his regular shoes but with emergency shoes that are prepared indoors in advance and called "evacuation shoes".
It was hot outside even after dark, and my second son did not seem to want to walk much, but I took him out and walked to the nearest large supermarket, saying, "It's not that far!", and we walked to the nearest large supermarket. I don't like to go to large supermarkets, but I was somewhat excited because they have a wider selection of goods than the ones I usually go to. The "evacuation shoes" we wanted were just the right size, and we were able to get them quickly.
The photo shows my son at a loss in the candy corner. With several times as many kinds of sweets in front of him as in the usual supermarket, he was at a loss as to what to choose.
We bought evacuation shoes, snacks, and a pumpkin salad and went home. My elder son would not eat this salad, so I shared it with my younger son. My step count was just barely 5,000 steps. When I was about to post it, I noticed that the step count synchronization was not working as well as the last time. To be precise, the number of steps taken the day before was displayed much lower than it actually was.

⭐️Actifit
I live in Japan, and I remember that the Actifit app used to reset the step count at midnight local time (i.e. Japan time) and start a new count. Therefore, I think I was able to post the previous day's step count for the next 24 hours after the date changed, but I wonder if there was some update or something that changed this.
If anyone knows, I would like to know! I am using the iOS app.

To be honest, I wasn’t prepared of a huge earthquake at all. I will surely read about more info about it this long weekend. I think I should read some manuals and all that. Someone told me Japanese students usually did some training of some sort at school..? That’s why they know what to do during earthquake? I’m not so sure of this info but if they are, then it’s really a very good thing.
Last night there was an earthquake. 大丈夫ですか? I was out with my friends at Ikebukuro when the earthquake happened and thankfully nothing bad happened.
I also checked the actifit app on my phone (i’m also using ios) and this used to count already after 12 midnight japan time but til now it’s still 0 after syncing from my watch. It’s a bit weird. I’ll check it again in the afternoon, hopefully it’s not a bug.
The other day, my step count for the previous day was zeroed out, although I had walked about 6,000 steps... I am wondering if the time of the step count reset has changed, because today it showed much less than the actual number of steps.
Maybe I should ask them on Discord🙂
I didn't feel any major tremors either, but the sound of the earthquake emergency alert last night was very scary. And I regret that people's fun plans for summer vacation might be cancelled. My family doesn't have any special plans though😅
In Japan, from kindergarten and nursery school to high school, students receive evacuation training at school. However, I do not know how effective they are ... because I myself have experienced such trainings at school, but I have never actually evacuated.
Last night was really scary especially because there was a warning of a huge one. But I was at Round 1 with my friends and after the quake, we just resumed playing 😂 We thought of the delays in trains for a second but we had forgotten about it after a while. It only sank in to me how dangerous the huge earthquake would be after I reached home late night and after reading your post. Now I’m checking for emergency kits and what to pack in case of emergency. I had one before but I gave it away so now I have to get one again.
Yeah this long weekend will surely make people think twice of going far away because of the quakes. I hope it will all be well though.
Glad you enjoyed bowling!
Earthquakes can happen whether we're at home or outside, and even if nothing happens this week, it could happen next week or next month... When I think about it, it's pointless to be overly concerned and refrain from action.
I'm going to buy a little more food and the rest of my life will go on as usual👍👍
ohhhh I wanted to post my workout the other day too but it looks like actifit is having problems syncing when you select the ‘yesterday’ option. It always sets to zero. 🤦♀️ I couldn’t post in the end.
I was a little relieved that I wasn't the only one. Thanks for the info!

Although it is scary, I'm kind of burned out on the giant tokai megaquake fear. It seems like at least once a week for the past 20 years someone has been predicting everyone in central Japan is going to die from it "soon". I have my emergency earthquake bag and food and water, and my kids know what to do if it does happen, but beyond that I'm not going to worry about it too much.
That's right. Yesterday the name of the alert, which I had never seen before, seemed to make me a little nervous😅 But as we learned at COVID-19, the media is making people too anxious. Especially earthquakes, there are dangers everywhere, and we should have a pleasant summer vacation as usual after making necessary preparations.
By the way, thank you for delegating more HP to the hive-ja account. $HIVE price is somewhat stagnant, but I consider it a good opportunity to increase HP and will do my best😉 I sent you 3 HSBI in return!
I saw a video that a donki store was crowded due to people buying stuff in preparation for the earthquake. I just wish we won’t have to experience such a scary phenomenon but better be prepared I guess.
Oh, the donki was crowded? I didn't know that... I heard that we have to be especially careful for the next week or two.
But you never know when an earthquake is going to happen, so we always have to be prepared. I don't have much stockpiled, so I think I will buy some food😉
ahhh me too I better buy some canned goods and noodles. I do have my emergency kit ready but I already ate the food in it 😆🤦♀️
Hi, can you please report this on Actifit Discord - I will also share with them!
I use iOS too, I think there may be a bug that will be fixed.
When I want to post - I click on yesterday and then again on today, to see the steps.
tagging also @wittyzell @appleeatingapple
Reg. earthquacke, I hope you all stay safe. Its good to stay prepared
Hi, @katerinaramm 😀 The last couple of days have been normal with no major tremors. Hopefully nothing will happen in the future.
Okay, I understand! We all live in Japan, so maybe there was a timezone change or something in the app🤔
I'll report back on Discoed. Thanks for stopping by!
