My elder son was invited to his classmate's birthday party. So today we went to buy a birthday present for him.

His family owns a restaurant in front of the station and the birthday party will be held at the restaurant tonight. Since I can't go because of work, my husband will be taking our sons there. Too bad, but I am lucky that I don't have to cook dinner.

I was not sure what to get him as a gift, but my son and I both liked a notebook with a calculator (with a built-in calculator on the cover and solar powered batteries) that we saw in a grocery store in a shopping mall, so we decided to buy that. We will give it to him with a set of pencils. I hope he will be happy with it.

I expected to be able to cool off a little in the shopping mall, but there were so many people in the mall...! With electricity rates skyrocketing, many people may have come to save money. We felt uncomfortable with all the people everywhere, so we bought only a present and some snacks as a souvenir and left the place early.

On the way home, we passed by a small park. My elder son wanted to play tby. But it was a small park with a lot of playground equipment, even the type of equipment that has recently been removed from many parks because it is considered "dangerous" equipment, which I thought was quite nice. I think it is not the equipment that is dangerous, but the way we play.

Although I rehydrated with Ito En's "Lemon Green Tea," I felt dizzy, probably due to the blazing sun. Summer is almost here... My sons were drenched in sweat, so I had them take a shower as soon as we got home. I have not been getting enough exercise recently, but I am glad that I was able to walk nearly 7,000 steps today. I weighed myself this morning and am happy and a little motivated because I am not as fat as I expected to be. I hope to lose about 3 more kilograms before my birthday the month after next!

長男がクラスメイトの誕生会に誘われたとのことで、誕生日プレゼントを買いに行ってきました。

その子の家族は駅前で飲食店を経営していて、誕生会は今夜そのお店で開催されるそうです。私は仕事で行けないため、父ちゃんが連れて行きます。残念だけど、晩御飯を作らなくて良いのはラッキー！です。

何をプレゼントしたら良いものか迷っていたところ、ショッピングモール内の雑貨店に並んでいた電卓付きノート（表紙に電卓が内蔵されていて、電池はソーラー）を私も息子も気に入ったのでそれにしました。鉛筆とセットでプレゼントします。喜んでくれると良いのですが。

ショッピングモール内で少し涼めたら… と期待しましたが、店内はものすごい人…！電気料金が高騰する中、節約目的で来ている人も多いのかもしれません。どこもかしこも人だらけで落ち着かなかったので、私たちはプレゼントと手土産のお菓子だけ買って早々にショッピングモールを後にしました。

帰り道、小さな公園の前を通りかかりました。長男が遊んでいきたい！と言うので、仕方なく寄ることに… でも小規模ながら遊具が充実した公園で、最近では「危険遊具」とされ多くの公園から撤去されてしまったようなものまで設置されていて、なかなか良いなと思いました。何でもかんでも「危険」といって撤去するのは、私は反対派です。危険なのは遊具でなく、遊び方だと思うのです。

伊藤園の「檸檬緑茶」で水分補給はしたものの、照りつける太陽のせいかフラフラしました。本格的な夏はもうすぐそこまで来ているようです… 子どもたちは汗みどろだったので、帰ってすぐにシャワーを浴びさせました。このところ運動不足が続いていましたが、今日は7,000歩近く歩けたので良かったです。今朝体重を測ったところ、予想していたほどには太っていなかったため嬉しくてちょっとやる気になっています。再来月の誕生日までに、あと3キロほど落とせたら…！
