My Actifit Report Card: March 10 2023

I walked a lot yesterday and today because of work related to my older son's elementary school.

Starting this April, I will be the leader of the school attendance group. At the elementary school where my elder son attends, it is compulsory for kids to go to school in a group, and one guardian must accompany them. The main job of the group leader is to make up a duty roster for this chaperone and distribute it to the parents of the school's attendance group.

As for the duty list...in our group, we still distribute the list printed on paper and put it in each family's mailbox. I asked one of the mothers in another group, and she told me that almost all the groups have a LINE group, and all the duty lists are sent and other communications are done through LINE.

I wondered why our group was the only analog one for how long, but, well... it must be because it's so hard to make a LINE group in the beginning.... There are about 15 households belonging to the same school attendance group, so I have to go around asking for everyone's LINE ID, create a group, and start a new operation different from the postboxing. Rather than go through such a difficult process, everyone may think it is better to follow the previous year's method, operate on a paper basis, and make it through the entire year of the term.

However, everyone has a smartphone and can even use LINE, but I can't believe that I have to go around and post printed duty sheets every time. I would not do that. Sure, it's a hassle at first, but once we create a group, we don't have to leave the house to send the duty sheet.

And one more thing. Every year, there is a district event that is attended by the school attendance group. Last year's group leader told me that there were parents who could not get through to her when she called to confirm attendance at such events, and she was very troubled. Some of them do not return her calls no matter how many times she calls. It is clear that if I continue to do things the same way, I will be in trouble this year. I absolutely hate that...! So I have come to the conclusion that I should create a LINE group in the spring at all costs.

Let me preface by saying that this is why I have been walking around the neighborhood yesterday and today to collect LINE IDs from all households. Since my budget SIM does not seem to be able to search for LINE IDs, and since this is the first time, I thought I would need to explan and get permission, so I decided to meet them in person and ask them to exchange LINE IDs. The process went surprisingly smoothly, and I have about 3-4 households left.

Pussy willows and plum trees were in bloom. The number of steps exceeded 10,000, and I felt a sense of accomplishment today.

昨日、今日は長男の小学校関連でよく歩いた日でした。

4月から、登校班の班長を務めることになりました。長男が通う小学校では集団登校をする決まりで、登校時は保護者が必ず1名付き添うことになっています。班長の主な仕事というのは、この付き添いの当番表を作って登校班の保護者に配布することです。

で、この当番表ですが・・・私たちの班では未だに、紙に印刷したものを各家庭の郵便受けに投函する方法で配布しています。別の班のママに聞いたところ、どこも各班でLINEグループを作成していて、当番表の送付やその他連絡は全てLINEで行っているといいます。

どうしてうちの班だけいつまでアナログなのかな、なんて思っていましたが、まあ最初にグループを作るのがとても大変だからでしょうね・・・。同じ登校班には15世帯ほど属しているので、全員のLINE IDを聞いて回り、グループを作成して、ポスト投函とは違った新たな運用（というほどでもないのだけれど）を始めなくてはなりません。そんな面倒なことをするくらいなら、前年度までのやり方に倣って紙ベースで運用し、任期の一年をやり過ごした方がマシ、と皆思うのでしょう。

が！皆スマホを持っていてLINEだって使えるのに、毎回毎回印刷した当番表を投函して回るなんて、私はそっちの方がやりたくないぞと思ってしまいました。確かに最初だけ手間だけど、一旦グループを作ってしまえばあとは家から出なくても当番表を送ることができます。

それともうひとつ。毎年、登校班単位で参加する地区の行事があるのですが、そうした行事の出欠確認の際になかなか電話が繋がらない保護者もいて、とても困ったのだと昨年の班長は話していました。何度かけても、折り返しもなかったりするそうで。同じやり方をしていたら、今年は私が困ることになるのは明らかです。それは絶対にイヤだ・・・！ということで、何としても春のうちにLINEグループを作成しておくべきだという結論に至りました。

前置きが長くなりましたが、そういうわけで全世帯のLINE IDを集めるべく、昨日・今日と近所を歩き回っているのです。私の使っている格安SIMはLINEのID検索ができないっぽいのと、一応最初なので説明と許可が必要だろうということで、直接会ってLINE IDを交換してもらう形をとりました。意外とすんなり進んでいて、残り3～4世帯ほどです。

ネコヤナギや梅が咲いていました。歩数も10,000歩を超え、何となく達成感のある今日でした。
