Gnars are a new way to fund extreme athletes

We prefer a world where kids aren't sold energy drinks by their heroes. So as a community of action sports enthusiasts, we've formed a DAO to rethink how extreme athletes get sponsored.

Gnars are NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain

Based on Nouns open source and CC0 artwork, they're stored fully on-chain with no external dependencies. Each one gets you a DAO vote and memberships are available at auction, forever.

Bob Burnquist’s First Drop on That’s Gnarly

We’ve officially got the first drop on That’s Gnarly from the legendary Bob Burnquist. Having someone this influential participating in the platform so early on is truly amazing to see. Go mint it while you still can! A portion of the mint proceeds will be donated to his organization Instituto Skate Cuida. Also, head over to Twitter to listen to the recording of the Gnars Jam Session where Bob was a guest and dropped his edition live on air!

ETHDenver Event

Today is the second day of the Gnars ETH Devner event! The event had a great turnout on the first day, some highlights can be found below. Gnarving Coming Soon

Once again, your weekly reminder that the gnarving is sneaking up on us and will be here in no time! The gnarving is when the duration of each auction doubles, think of it like e Bitcoin halving but for Gnars auctions, and this time the auction duration is going to increase from 40 to 80 minutes. At the time of this writing, there are 138 auctions left. And don’t forget, the next gnarving will also mark the beginning of auction extensions and the end of sniping! This proposal is seeking 1 Gnar NFT to begin the athlete onboarding process for Carlos Bellumat, a big wave bodyboarder located in Brazil. He is a part of the NXF team of surfers and bodyboarders who discovered and are pioneers of “Avalanche”, one of the largest waves in Brazil. You can find his latest submission to That’s Gnarly here.
