My Actifit Report Card: June 29 2023

The last weekend I went to the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races on 24 and 25th June; it was carried out in Tsim Sha Tsui East promenade.

This event returns after four years, and Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association organises it; international teams had the chance to register through their website.

Were 160 teams registered this year and more than 4000 paddlers on average.

I was checking on their website that the distance for the race was 500m.

The races started early morning, from 8:00 am until 18:30, I went early to avoid the crowd, but there were some beach umbrellas for the spectators to protect them from the sun or rain.

I have noticed that the paddlers use clean water after their race because staying the whole day with the sea water on their bodies must be tough.

I have always wanted to take part in this competition. Still, one of the requirements is to be a good swimmer in case of an accident happen. Before COVID, the company where I work used to take part in this competition, and team members used to practice on weekends for a few months before the competition.

There were also some LINE Friends decorations about Dragon Boat Race along the promenade. These characters are famous in Asia, and avoiding taking pictures with them is very hard.

I saw that the Philippines won in one of the races on Saturday. But not sure overall; I've just been there for half a day. Thanks for stopping by here @bloghound
