Wow!!! - It was a weekend of wonders.

I didn't know the right word to describe what the English Premier League matchday 4 felt like and in the end, all I could say was WOW! which turned out to be a WEEKEND OF WONDERS. I was blown away by some teams performances over the weekend and I will be talking about the three matches I enjoyed watching over the weekend.
I am always looking forward to the weekend football and this past weekend wasn't exempted, I couldn't get Liverpool's defeat against Manchester United from matchday 3 off my mind and many Liverpool fans really needed something to boost their hopes for a wonderful season.
The team might be struggling with injuries but what I saw against Bournemouth tells me that the team spirit was only low in the past weeks. A Manchester United fan tackled me and said Bournemouth is a small side compared to Liverpool which I agree but it looks like lots of people have forgotten that Manchester City was only able to put four past the same Bournemouth side despite Pep Guardiola featuring his best side at the Etihad stadium.
So far this season in the Premier League, Liverpool remains the highest-scoring side in a single match, and putting 9 past Bournemouth is a wonder to me.
Manchester United did the same to Southampton last season but it wasn't as perfect as what we saw at Anfield over the weekend because two Southampton players got red cards in that encounter last year.
People who watched the match without sentiment can tell that the Liverpool players were invincible throughout the match, they dominated from the first minute till the end.
The team build up attacks from defense, seeing Van Dijk throwing long and accurate passes from behind was fascinating, the whole team was involved in that resounding victory.
Surprisingly Salah didn't get a goal and it could have been up to a dozen or more if he got most of his chances right, 5 goals in the first half and 4 goals in the second half was a perfect way for Liverpool to grab their first victory in the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Firmino was incredible, no one saw him giving such a fantastic performance in the match, he doesn't deliver every day but when he does, it is always more than expectations.
Should we talk about Arnold, Dias, Robertson, or Van Dijk? Everyone had a great game and I definitely can't get tired of seeing them get quite a good number of goals in every match.
I hope the victory doesn't stop Liverpool from still signing players because we don't know which other players will get injuries as the season progresses.
I don't know what Jurgen Klopp said to inspire the team but he should definitely say the same thing every match so that we can grind out fantastic results as we saw over the weekend.
Manchester City almost got stuck in that encounter against Crystal Palace, Patrick Viera keeps proving to be one of the promising coaches in the world. We saw how they pushed Liverpool to a draw, I knew they will give Manchester problems but I didn't see them getting two goals in 21 minutes and both goals came as a result of set pieces.
Manchester City couldn't pull one back at the end of the first half and there came my fear for them because their previous match ended in a draw against Newcastle. I wasn't expecting a complete comeback for Manchester city and I was surprised they put four past Crystal Palace in the second half which was completely a show of class from Pep Guardiola's side, it was a show of champions and you definitely can't question why they are Premier League Champions because they play every game like one.
Haaland was instrumental to the victory, he got a hat trick and you can't expect a player of his class not to deliver with the likes of De Bruyne, Silva, and others, it won't be 100% performance for him always but stepping up in crucial moments like Manchester City were against Crystal Palace at half time matters a lot.
Another comeback that caught my attention this weekend was Arsenal, a lot of teams are proving to be Premier League worthy and Fulham is one of them. They go into every game with lots of energy, two draws, one win and a loss in four games isn't a bad start for them on their return to the Premier League.
Fulham was kind of a good test for Arsenal, they stretched the Arsenal side to an extent and got a goal which put them ahead of Arsenal in the 56th minute of the match. It looked like they were there to stop Arsenal's perfect run for the season but they messed with the wrong team.
At the moment, Mikel Arteta is the only manager who hasn't lost or drawn a match this season and that earned them a comfortable spot at the top of the table above Manchester City, Liverpool and others.
One thing I emphasized in the Liverpool victory is team play and that's what Arsenal is banking on at the moment, teamwork is very important because it gives results.
Arsenal conquered despite threats and they played like they are charged for the title this season, will they break the Premier League curse? I think time will tell.
It ended 2-1 and they restored confidence in their fans that this season is theirs for glory in the English Premier League.
At this point, the Premier League won't be getting any easier. We are going to be seeing teams play midweek matches and the strength of every club will be tested. We wouldn't be waiting till the weekend before we see matchday 5, it will be coming earlier than it should due to the leagues trying to fit into the world cup schedule.
I am looking forward to seeing clubs give entertaining performances as we saw in the Premier League over the weekend.

nice review of the key games 👍
I am glad you liked it, they were indeed great games.
Yes ooooo. I saw your comment about VVD on Twitter. I also noticed it and I'm very impressed because those long passes he gives from the backline is one of the things that helps us to break opponent's defence and force us into quick attacking buildup.
His tackles were also on point and he didn't allow Bournemouth players to think while having the ball.
It was an all-around solid performance from Liverpool and we all know it's against Bournemouth but that win is a very convincing one.
As for Arsenal, haha... they are really getting it right. If they continue like this till January, we can all talk about chances of them winning a title this season.
I had my heart in my hand in that match against Newcastle, I am seeing changes and I hope Jurgen Klopp discovers the new strength of the team. It would be great to having different styles of play, we will be having matches back to back from now and we mustn't suffer any form of injury from now onward.
I was very excited to see the signing of Arthur Melo. He may not be the best midfielder out there, but if he can be fit for he most part of the season, it will help us a lot.
Looking forward to our Derby game with Everton. Those Everton folks are very good at making things tough for us. Haha
Not this time, they are struggling and I doubt if they can give us trouble like they use to do.
Yeah. One thing with all these Derby games especially the Merseyside derby is that when at their worst, they usually turn up for these games in different shape.
This is usually when most of our players get season ruining injuries. Hahah. It's going to be a wild game and I'm sure Henderson and (probably) Milner will be starting that game to match the aggressiveness
Carvalho may come in later or just sit that one out. Hahah. Whatever the case may be, a win is all we want.

Good job. Hehe ✌️
It's a crazy weekend and more so for my FPL. How Liverpool scored 9 and Salah didn't is still a mystery to me. Saka is annoying me too because he has become a passerby while Gabriel Jesus faltered. It was a weekend of wonders with the so called Big Boys getting the points.
I really wish ti ask him in person how he didn't get a goal all through the match because it was very odd for him not to get a goal or assist on a good day like that
I wish to give him a hot stare so it can inspire him to score 6 goals next game. He messed up that week.

Bournemouth paid the price of Liverpool's anger .. a victory that restores the players' confidence in themselves
They surely did, they will be glad they got a draw against Bournemouth during the midweek match.
