My Actifit Report Card: November 16 2024

Hello Hive, this weekend, I left @altheana in Normandy to join my father on my land. The goal was clear: to install the stove I received last week in our little shepherd's cabin.

We left at 7:15 AM, as the days are getting shorter. To make the most of the daylight, it was important not to arrive too late.

Once we arrived, we took a moment to enjoy a coffee with my aunt before borrowing her tractor. Thanks to it, we were able to bring the stove and the pipe down to our land.

We then unpacked the stove. With temperatures at just 5°C this weekend, we were eager to set it up quickly and enjoy its warmth.

My father had brought a patio slab to serve as a base for the stove. After assembling the stove legs, we placed it on the slab.

We were so focused that I didn’t take many photos. The hardest part was making the hole in the ceiling.

It was already noon by the time we finished making the hole, so we went back to my aunt’s house for lunch.

An hour later, we were back at work. The next objective was to install the pipes. To seal the pipes together, we used a type of cement paste.

We finished the installation at around 5:30 PM, just as it was starting to get very dark.

It was still freezing outside. Inside, the thermometer read 5°C with 95% humidity.

We lit the stove to test it.

This is truly a significant step forward for the cabin, and I’m happy to have spent this weekend with my father to make it happen.

In less than an hour, the inside temperature rose from 5°C to 18°C! The humidity level dropped to 60%. I’m really pleased with this progress.

Bonjour Hive, ce week-end, j’ai laissé @altheana en Normandie pour rejoindre mon père sur mon terrain. L’objectif était clair : installer le poêle que j’ai reçu la semaine dernière dans notre petite cabane de berger.

Nous sommes partis à 7h15, car les journées se raccourcissent. Pour maximiser les heures de lumière, il était important de ne pas arriver trop tard.

Une fois sur place, nous avons pris le temps de boire un café avec ma tante avant de lui emprunter son tracteur. Grâce à lui, nous avons pu descendre le poêle et le tuyau jusqu’à notre terrain.

Nous avons ensuite déballé le poêle. Avec seulement 5 degrés au thermomètre ce week-end, l’envie de le monter rapidement pour profiter de sa chaleur nous motivait encore davantage.

Mon père avait ramené une dalle de terrasse pour servir de support pour le poêle. Après avoir monté les pieds sur le poêle, on l’a installé dessus.

Nous étions concentré, je n’ai pas pris beaucoup de photos. Le plus difficile à été de faire le trou au plafond.

Il était déjà midi quand nous avons fait le trou. On est donc remonté pour aller manger chez ma tante.

Puis, 1h plus tard, nous étions de retour sur le chantier. L’objectif était à présent d’installer les tuyaux. Pour fixer les tuyaux entre eux, nous avions une sorte de pâte de ciment.

Nous avons terminé l’installation à 17h30 environ. Pile quand il commençait à faire très sombre.

Il faisait toujours très froid dehors. A l’intérieur, le thermomètre affichait 5 degrés et 95% d’humidité.

Nous avons donc allumé le poêle pour le tester.

C’est vraiment une grande avancée dans la cabane et je suis heureux d’avoir passé du temps avec mon père pour ça ce week-end.

En moins d’une heure, l’intérieur est passé de 5 degrés à 18 degrés ! Le taux d’humidité à diminué jusqu'à 60%. Je suis vraiment content pour ça.
