Ferjani Sassi raises controversy among Zamalek fans
Tunisian Ferjani Sassi, the star of Egypt's Zamalek midfield, sparked widespread controversy after he posted a picture on his personal Instagram account with his son, who wears the Tunisian Esperance shirt.
Zamalek will be hosted by Esperance, tomorrow evening, Saturday, at the Olympic Stadium, Hammadi Al-Aqrabi, for the third round of the fourth group of the Champions League.
Sassi played in the Esperance jersey from 2016 until his departure in January 2018 to Al-Nasr Saudi Arabia, before moving to Zamalek.
Ferjani, the 28-year-old contract with Zamalek, expires at the end of the current season, and he has the right to sign any team without referring to the White Castle management.
The picture of Sassi with his son sparked a division among the Zamalek fans, some of whom considered the matter a good gesture from Ferjani towards his former team.
While others considered the photo a provocation to the feelings of Zamalek fans, Ferjani Sassi wore her opponent's shirt before meeting the two teams.
