Review of Wish Dragon (2021) [ESP – ENG]
Saludos a todos los miembros de la comunidad, ¿cómo están? Muchos de nosotros hemos tenido amigos de la infancia que significación por un tiempo el mundo entero pero después simplemente se pierde el contacto, al ser niños poco es lo que podemos controlar, y quedamos atrapados entre las vueltas de la vida que nos alejan cada día de aquellas atesoradas memorias de momentos, donde vivir no era complicado. Esta es un poco la situación de Din, quien perdió el contacto con su amiga de la infancia llamada Li Na cuando esta se mudó con su familia, los años pasando y esforzándose en su trabajo de repartidor porque ser estudiante universitario no es sencillo. Pero como los milagros existen, nuestro protagonista tendrá la posibilidad de que sus circunstancias se mejoren, emprendiendo un viaje de autodescubrimiento.
Greetings to all members of the community, how are you? Many of us have had childhood friends that meant the whole world for a while but then we simply lose touch, being children we can control little, and we get caught between the twists and turns of life that take us away every day from those treasured memories of moments, where living was not complicated. This is somewhat the situation of Din, who lost contact with his childhood friend named Li Na when she moved away with her family, the years passing by and struggling in his job as a delivery boy because being a college student is not easy. But since miracles do exist, our protagonist will have a chance for his circumstances to improve, embarking on a journey of self-discovery.
Desde que era pequeño, Din ha vivido en un lugar humilde de China junto a su familia y sigue allí junto a ellos viviendo con lo que tienen, sin lujos de los cuales presumir, pero con ese calor de hogar que muchos tenemos, por lo que esto es algo con lo que podríamos empatizar con el personaje principal. Esto se diferencia de lo que vive Li Na, pues su padre se mudó para conseguir una mejor calidad de vida y logró su objetivo al ir a la parte rica de la ciudad, convirtiéndose Li Na en una persona de la clase alta y llegando a ser una famosa modelo, pero que por esto mismo se ha visto envuelta en un mundo lleno de materialismo en donde las personas simplemente quieren estar a su lado por dobles intenciones, no para conocerla en realidad. Esto traerá consigo ciertas dinámicas por las distintas esferas que se desarrollan alrededor de los personajes y cómo funciona el mundo.
Since he was little, Din has lived in a humble place in China with his family and is still there with them living with what they have, without luxuries to boast about, but with that warmth of home that many of us have, so this is something we could empathize with the main character. This is different from what Li Na lives, as her father moved to get a better quality of life and achieved his goal by going to the rich part of the city, becoming Li Na in a person of the upper class and becoming a famous model, but for this very reason she has been involved in a world full of materialism where people simply want to be by her side for double intentions, not to really know her. This will bring about certain dynamics because of the different spheres that develop around the characters and how the world works.
Estoy enamorada por completo del arte conceptual pues tiene las características que a mí me encantan, personalidad, técnica y hermosura. Esto quedó marcado también en el estilo artístico de la cinematografía en el diseño de personajes, ambientación, paleta de colores con predominancia en el rosa y morado… pero esto no superó la primera impresión que tuve con estos dibujos que me flecharon sin regreso. La perspectiva de los planos también hizo que se destacara el apartado del arte dentro de lo que se mostró en pantalla porque consigue acentuar en varios momentos el contraste de la iluminación, así como las formas, terminando con un resultado final lleno de vida, que aunque tiene ciertos aspectos genéricos sí puedes llegar a sentir una esencia especial rebosante de autenticidad en los detalles.
I am completely in love with the concept art because it has the characteristics that I love, personality, technique and beauty. This was also marked in the artistic style of the cinematography in the character design, the setting, the color palette with predominance of pink and purple... but this did not overcome the first impression I had with these drawings that charmed me without return. The perspective of the shots also made the art section stand out within what was shown on screen because it manages to accentuate in several moments the contrast of the lighting, as well as the shapes, ending with a final result full of life, that although it has certain generic aspects you can get to feel a special essence brimming with authenticity in the details.
La dinámica entre Din y el dragón Long será de lo que resalte debido a que representa la mayor parte de lo que el espectador verá durante la cinematografía y esta hace un excelente trabajo al no menospreciar la importancia de estos personajes dándoles una apropiada profundización a su historia, específicamente hablando sobre la de Long, quien tiene una personalidad cómica si ignoramos la mala persona que puede llegar a ser —que fue de igual manera en su vida— y ese egoísmo que muestra. Creo que su evolución es uno de los aspectos que más me gustaron, porque siempre es bueno ver cómo alguien puede llegar a mejorar y cambiar su perspectiva sobre la vida dándose la oportunidad de poder disfrutar de aquello que no pudo por estar pensando de una forma materialista. Además de que es divertido verlo sorprendido por la modernidad del mundo.
The dynamic between Din and the dragon Long will be what stands out because it represents most of what the viewer will see during the film and it does an excellent job of not underestimating the importance of these characters by giving them a proper deepening of their story, specifically talking about Long, who has a comical personality if we ignore the bad person he can be -which he was in his life- and the selfishness he shows. I think his evolution is one of the aspects I liked the most, because it's always good to see how someone can improve and change his perspective on life, giving himself the opportunity to enjoy what he couldn't because he was thinking in a materialistic way. Besides it is fun to see him surprised by the modernity of the world.
La enseñanza que pretende dejar esta cinematografía para los niños y adolescentes aunque válida me es de mis preferidas porque nunca me ha gustado romantizar la pobreza con el discurso de que el dinero no hace la felicidad considerando que se vive en un mundo que gira alrededor del dinero, sí me parece bien que se enseñe a los niños que el dinero no lo es todo en la vida y que es importante contar en personas que se preocupen por ti y estén allí para darte apoyo cuando lo necesites, el encontrar la felicidad puede que no esté relacionada solamente son cuántas cosas materiales tienes, nos podemos sentir contentos con lo que tenemos pese a no ser demasiado, pero restarle importancia al dinero por completo me parece absurdo. Aun así, aquí estamos como en un punto intermedio.
The teaching that this film intends to leave behind for children and teenagers, although valid, is one of my favorites because I have never liked to romanticize poverty with the discourse that money does not make happiness, considering that we live in a world that revolves around money, I do think it is good to teach children that money is not everything in life and that it is important to count on people who care about you and are there to support you when you need it, finding happiness may not be related only to how many material things you have, we can feel happy with what we have even if it is not too much, but to completely downplay the importance of money seems absurd to me. Even so, here we are kind of in an intermediate point.
Los antagonistas que se presentan como aquellos que generan los conflictos en principio se muestran como para agregarle algunas escenas de acción a la cinematografía y unas cuantas persecuciones, siguen ciertos estereotipos de mafiosos, nada que no se haya visto antes tampoco, pero sí le agregan bastantes situaciones que se me hicieron graciosas y la comedia siempre es necesaria en esta clase de película desde mi punto de vista, así que está bien. Tiene unos cuantos giros en torno a los villanos que no son lo que parecen, pero es bastante predecible hacia dónde se dirige la historia, algo que no la hace menos disfrutable porque sirve a un propósito y ese resultado conseguido en la película terminó en lo que me encanta, un final feliz donde cada quien encontró su lugar en el mundo.
The antagonists who are presented as those who generate the conflicts at first are shown as to add some action scenes to the cinematography and a few chases, they follow certain mobster stereotypes, nothing that hasn't been seen before either, but they do add quite a few situations that I found funny and comedy is always necessary in this kind of movie from my point of view, so it's okay. It has a few twists around the villains that aren't what they seem, but it's pretty predictable where the story is headed, something that doesn't make it any less enjoyable because it serves a purpose and that result achieved in the film ended in what I love, a happy ending where everyone found their place in the world.
Esta es una excelente opción para ver en familia, más cuando hay niños, porque la verdad es que es muy entretenida y linda, a mí me gustó aunque a muchos les pareció que es una copia de la película de Disney, Aladdín, lo cual sería una mala apreciación desde mi punto de vista. Debe recordarse que dicha película se inspiró en una historia… así que en teoría esta trama argumentativa surge a raíz de esta historia, cambiando ciertos elementos para encajar con el público objetivo, que son las personas de China, pese a que al final todos la podamos disfrutar. Si les interesa verla les dejo un video con el tráiler para que puedan apreciar un poco la estética y trama argumentativa, recordándoles que estos pueden tener muchos spoilers, pero si les gustaría un poco más de información, allí la tendrán.
This is an excellent option to watch with the family, especially when there are children, because the truth is that it is very entertaining and cute, I liked it, although many people thought it was a copy of the Disney movie, Aladdin, which would be a bad assessment from my point of view. It should be remembered that this movie was inspired by a story... so in theory this plot arises from this story, changing certain elements to fit the target audience, which are people from China, although in the end we can all enjoy it. If you are interested in watching it, I leave you a video with the trailer so you can appreciate a little of the aesthetics and plot, reminding you that these may have many spoilers, but if you would like a little more information, there you will have it.

Oooh, diré que me ha encantado la animación con tan solo ver las fotografías. Tienes razón, toques púrpuras y rosados... Además, está la amistad entre el dragón y el chico, algo que nos avisa de una potencial aventura de autodescubrimiento. No sé por qué, pero la peli me recuerda a Grandes héroes, quizás por su animación... A veces veo pelis animadas. Esta la anotaré porque se ve buena. ¡Me encantó la forma en la que describiste la peli! Éxitos!

Comparing this movie with Aladdin can be a bit limiting...even if it almost reflected the say Genie and making a wish scenery, i believe it can be enjoyed nevertheless.
The story was a beautiful one, and I loved the way the villian was portrayed...there were a lot of funny scenes especially when he took the girl home with his mom, the way the neighbors and the dragon made everything enjoyable...
It's a great movie for sure ❤️
