I loved MLB

Days ago I was watching the baseball world series that is being held in different parts of the world, and I really wanted to play Baseball, I practiced when I was a kid Baseball for maybe about 3 years, then I didn't like it and I dedicated myself 100% to chess, but okay, we are not talking about that... My love for baseball is not big at all, I still enjoy watching games occasionally, and even more when your country (Venezuela) is one of the favorites to win the title since this country is 100% dedicated to baseball XD. Well, I wanted to download a game that reminded me of many years ago, I always played it with my best friend and we downloaded it again, he was just at home those days...

The game is MVP Baseball 2005, it was pretty hard to download since it is a very old game but at the same time it is very funny too, it was hidden in many pages and tutorials all over the internet, and finally, I could get the link XD. The game is entertaining, the best thing is that you can play 2 people, which gives much more competitiveness to the game. Although not everything is as nice as you may think, let's see why...

Alright, this game is great, and by great, I mean great gameplay mechanics and a great variety of equipment, modes, etc. I like that too much, it's literally like FIFA but in Baseball, there's not much science to it. The game is really old, which means the graphics are fucking shit, and they really are, but it's not the worst my eyes have seen hahaha. The animations are fun, we can see how our manager can hit or push the umpire (can't remember the name XD), when we run, jump, hit, hit, etc. The animations are very clean and nice, I can't say no, besides, it's a game from too many years ago.

Here we have several leagues, both MLB and others, and also the superstar team. I have had some problems playing MVP, let's see, mmm, I think the first thing this game is not designed to be played with a keyboard, that's more than clear, it is impossible to try to play games with the keyboard, especially when every time you open the game has a different configuration, yes... XD. It doesn't make sense at all, I've been about to delete it, but the desire I have to play some baseball game wins me XD. The controls are tricky, we literally have over 20 keys and each one does something different, it's a little confusing but I think you'll get used to it eventually...

For example, there in that picture I just lost a game on the lowest difficulty of all, rookie, yeah I know, I suck at playing haha. However I tried to do my best, I tried to hit as well as possible and above all, batting, something I'm not used to at all, I can literally get 3 strikeouts in a row and I still don't understand how to bat correctly, it's hard, but with practice, you can improve, by the way, here we also have the batting mini-game, there we can practice, although it's not so fun because we have a time limit, I'll show you how to do it.

That's the batting mode, it's a VS, the first one to reach 5500 points, incredibly I won, but when we go to the real games, I don't bat ANYTHING, I don't know why I'm so bad, I think the timing is not my thing...

Here we have another minigame, the idea is to keep improving the pitcher's skill until it becomes really difficult, I could only get to round 5...

The game has some pretty cool stuff and enjoying fun details is something that is appreciated in this kind of game, for example, the uniform of the players gets dirty with dirt when they hit the ground, that's pretty realistic, and the pitches are all real, as well as the players, all in general, that's also cool. It has the stadiums totally "identical" to the real ones, I liked that too, although, in the New York stadium, I haven't seen the pool yet... haha just kidding. Obviously, we have the league mode, and a few others that I don't quite understand what they're for XD.

The AI is fucking shit, my god, I've tried to play "calmly" without getting annoyed, and it's impossible, I always end up very angry thanks to this kind of absurd error, I just HATE it. The AI sometimes doesn't understand that it should go get the ball because OBVIOUSLY IT IS CLOSER, no, it prefers to stand still while all the players score runs, it's stupid... Anyway, MVP Baseball 2005 is brutal, it's a great game, as long as you have controls and can avoid stupid AI, otherwise, the game completes like everything else and becomes extremely fun the more you play it, playing it with friends is sure fun.

Yo amaba la MLB

Hace días estaba viendo la serie mundial de béisbol que se está celebrando en distintas partes del mundo, y me entraron muchas ganas de jugar Béisbol, yo practiqué cuándo era niño Béisbol por tal vez unos 3 años, luego no me gustó y me dediqué 100% al ajedrez, pero okay, no estamos hablando de eso... Mi amor por el béisbol no es para nada grande, aún así disfruto ver partidos de vez en cuándo, y más cuándo tu país (Venezuela) es uno de los favoritos a ganar el título, ya que este país es 100% dedicado al beísbol XD. Bueno, quería descargar un juego que me recordaba desde hace muchos años, siempre lo jugaba con mi mejor amigo y lo volvimos a descargar, justo él estaba en casa esos días...

El juego es MVP Baseball 2005, costó bastante descargarlo ya que es un juego muy viejo pero a la vez es muy divertido también, estaba escondido en muchas páginas y tutoriales de todo internet, y por fin pude conseguir el link XD. El juego es muy divertido, lo mejor es que se puede jugar 2 personas, lo que le da mucho más competitivismo al juego. Aunque no todo es tan bonito cómo tal vez crean, veámos porque...

Muy bien, este juego es grande, y con grande me refiero a buenas mecánicas de juego y gran variedad de equipos, modos, etc. Eso me gusta demasiado, literalmente es cómo el FIFA pero en Béisbol, no tiene mucha ciencia. El juego es viejísimo, eso significa que los gráficos son una puta mierda, y realmente si lo son, pero tampoco es lo peor que han visto mis ojos hahaha. Las animaciones son divertidas, podemos ver cómo nuestro manager puede golpear o empujar al árbitro (no recuerdo el nombre XD), cuándo corremos, saltamos, bateamos, pichamos, etc. Las animaciones son muy limpias y bonitas, no puedo decir que no, además, es un juego de hace demasiados años.

Aquí tenemos varias ligas, tanto la MLB cómo otras, y también el equipo de super-estrellas. He tenido algunos problemas al jugar MVP, a ver, mmm, creo que lo primero este juego no está diseñado para ser jugado con teclado, eso está más que claro, es imposible que intentamos jugar partidas con el teclado, especialmente cuándo cada vez que abres el juego tiene una configuración diferente, sí... XD. No tiene sentido en absoluto, he estado por borrarlo, pero las ganas que tengo de jugar algún juego de béisbol me ganan XD. Los controles son difíciles, literalmente tenemos más de 20 teclas y cada una hace algo distinto, es un poco confuso pero creo que con el tiempo ya te acostumbrarás...

Por ejemplo, allí en esa foto acabo de perder un juego con la dificultad más baja de todas, la rookie, sí, lo sé, soy una porquería jugando haha. Sin embargo intenté dar lo mejor de mí, intenté pichar lo mejor posible y sobretodo, batear, algo que no me acostumbro para nada, literalmente me pueden dar 3 strikeout seguidos y aún no comprendo cómo se batea correctamente, es difícil, pero con la práctica se puede mejorar, por cierto, aquí también tenemos el minijuego de bateo, allí podremos prácticar, aunque no es tan divertido ya que tenemos un limite de tiempo, ya les enseñaré.

Ese es el modo de bateo, es un VS, el primero que llegue a 5500 puntos, increíblemente gané, pero cuándo vamos a los juegos de verdad, no bateo NADA, no sé porque soy tan malo, creo que el timing no es lo mio...

Aquí tenemos otro minijuego, la idea es ir mejorando la habilidad del pitcher hasta que se vuelva realmente difícil, solo pude llegar hasta la ronda 5...

El juego tiene cosas bastantes chulas y disfrutar de detalles divertidos es algo que se agradece en este tipo de juegos, por ejemplo, el uniforme de los jugadores se ensucia de tierra cuándo se lanzan al piso, eso es bastante realista, los picheos todos son reales, igualmente que los jugadores, todos en general, eso también está cool. Tiene los estadios totalmente "idénticos" a los reales, eso también me gustó, aunque en el estadio de New York no he visto la piscina aún... haha es broma. Obviamente tenemos el modo liga, y algunos otros más que no entiendo muy bien para qué son XD.

La IA es una puta mierda, dios mío, he intentado jugar "tranquilamente" sin molestarme, y es imposible, siempre termino muy enojado gracias a este tipo de errores absurdos, simplemente lo ODIO. La IA a veces no entiende que debe ir a buscar la pelota porque OBVIAMENTE ESTA MAS CERCA, no, prefiere quedarse parado mientras todos los jugadores anotan las carreras, es una estúpidez... En fin, MVP Baseball 2005 es brutal, es un juegazo, siempre y cuándo tengas controles y puedas evitar IA estúpida, de resto el juego comple como todo y se vuelve extremadamente divertido mientras más lo juegas, jugarlo con amigos es diversión segura.
