Playing Chess on "International Chess Day 2023" with Commentary!

Hello guys, it has been a long since I posted here. Let me make up for that as I upload this video of my chess games which I played yesterday on the occasion of International Chess Day 2023.

I was not aware of this day until I saw it in my Twitter feed. So, I decided to play some games. I have not been playing much of chess lately but for me, chess is a beautiful game and will always have a special place in my heart.

In the video, as you can see I played 4 games of Blitz having 5+3 as my time control. Let me put up a disclaimer that English is not my first language it is my third so please keep that in mind. I tried to show tell you my thought process in the games.

I had black pieces in the first game and did not play well in the opening. I even exchanged most of my pieces and I was down 2 pawns with a completely losing position but my opponent failed to convert those extra pawns to their advantage and one of my outside pawns almost got promoted so they had to sacrifice their rook. I won that game easily in the end which looked like a resignable game for me a few moves ago.

I was white in the next game and played the queen's gambit. Black's Queen came in and plunked itself in the centre of the board where I slowly trapped the Queen. With the Queen trapped right in the middle of the board, they resigned.

In the next game, I was doing good with Black and even got an advantage by trapping their knight and winning it. But with a one-move blunder, I gave back the advantage and after some time the double bishop proved to be a huge nuisance for me and I lost this game.

One of the most crucial positions of the last game was when I was threatening a mate with my two rooks and a Knight. Black had a saving move by bringing back their bishop to g7 and I would be lost. But they missed this move and I delivered a checkmate with my two rooks. This type of checkmate is called the "Blind Swine Mate" and is very satisfying to deliver.

I know my games are still bad and I have to work on my openings and tactics. Sorry for the bad quality of presentation as well. This was my first one and I will improve with time.
