It was quite a nice day today in The Netherlands. At least in the western part where I live. It was sunny and the temperatures have gone up a bit in the past week. With 12 degrees Celsius, some sun and not too much wind it was a perfect day for my weekend cycling ride.

We made quite a large ride again; 76 kilometer. Together with my commuting kilometers and an hour on the hometrainer this adds up to over 200 kilometers this week.
I really need to make some kilometers since we have already planned our 200 kilometer trip in the beginning of June.

There were a lot of willows on a part of the trail today. It's lovely to see the sun shine through the branches.

On other parts of the route the road went in between large fields. I don't know what they grow here, but we will probably know in a month or two.

We often cycle from village to village. Most of these towns have a church in the center. You often can see the tower of the church from far.

This really was a nice piece of road. Quite long, good quality asphalt en not a lot of traffic.

And the day even became better. My fellow Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel won the Spring Classing Milan–San Remo. He jumped away from his fellow escapers in the last kilometers of the almost 300 kilometer ride and crossed the finish line first.
