Este fin de semana estará lleno de mucho automovilismo, específicamente el día domingo 28 de Mayo de 2023, cuando se estará disputando tres carreras muy importantes en cuanto a deporte motor se refiere. Estas son el Gran Premio de Monaco de la Fórmula Uno, Las 500 millas de Indinapolisis de la Serie Indycar y la Coca-Cola 600 de la Serie de la Copa NASCAR. Este es uno de los fines de semanas más esperado por los amantes del deportes motor, tan solo falta las míticas 24 Horas de Le Mans del campeonato mundial de resistencia del WEC, para que este sea realmente perfecto. En esta reseña les voy a comentar un poco sobre cada competencia, pero pienso profundizar un poco más en lo que a NASCAR se refiere, porque es la categoría que les vengo trayendo las incidencias desde que inicie con mis contenidos en la comunidad #FullDeportes, aunque de las otras también conozco muy bien.

El gran premio de Mónaco es la competencia más esperada por los pilotos y equipos de la Fórmula 1, es la carrera más difícil e importante que tenemos en el calendario del campeonato y una de la verdadera razón de esto, es por las míticas carreras que se han dado en las carreteras del principado. Para aquellos que no saben, el circuito usado para esta competencia es callejero, debido a que usan las mismas calles de la ciudad para formar el trazado. Este considero que es el circuito más complicado que podemos encontrar en todo la F1, incluso lo he probado en un simulador y para nada me ha ido bien, me iba constantemente contra el muro, debido a que este posee unas curvas que son muy estrechas. Este último punto es una de las cosas que más me impresiona de los pilotos, como pueden girar tan rápidos en este circuito, donde cualquier error se paga caro.

Este año el campeonato mundial de la Fórmula 1 se ha visto dominada por el equipo RedBull, sobre todo este año donde la brecha con los demás equipos es mucho mayor. Realmente a menos que se dé una sorpresa, tanto el piloto Países Bajos, Max Verstappen, como el mexicano Checo Pérez, ambos de la escudería de la bebida energética son los que parte como ganadores para este gran premio, a menos que se dé una sorpresa. Alguien que podría pelear la victoria en teoría es Fernando Alonso que está haciendo una campaña asombrosa y de las 5 carreras (No se incluye la última carrera cancelada de Italia) que se han disputado en la campaña, en 4 ha terminado el podio, pero aún sin ninguna gane. El español de Aston Martin merece al menos tener una victoria en esta temporada. ¿Será que el bicampeón del mundo, el español Fernando Alonso logrará su primera victoria de 2023 en Mónaco? o ¿Algún otro piloto batirá a los RedBull? This is one of the most anticipated weekends for motorsports lovers, just missing the mythical 24 Hours of Le Mans of the WEC World Endurance Championship, to make this one really perfect. In this review I will comment a little about each competition, but I plan to go a little deeper into what NASCAR is concerned, because it is the category that I have been bringing you the incidents since I started with my content in the #FullDeportes community, although I also know very well about the others.


The Monaco Grand Prix is the most awaited competition by Formula 1 drivers and teams, it is the most difficult and important race we have in the championship calendar and one of the real reason for this is because of the mythical races that have taken place on the roads of the principality. For those who do not know, the circuit used for this competition is street, because they use the same streets of the city to form the layout. This I consider to be the most complicated circuit that we can find in all F1, I have even tested it in a simulator and it has not gone well at all, I was constantly going against the wall, because it has some curves that are very narrow. This last point is one of the things that impresses me most about the drivers, how they can turn so fast on this circuit, where any mistake is expensive.

This year the Formula 1 world championship has been dominated by the RedBull team, especially this year where the gap with the other teams is much bigger. Actually, unless there is a surprise, both the driver from the Netherlands, Max Verstappen, and the Mexican Checo Perez, both from the energy drink team are the ones who start as winners for this Grand Prix, unless there is a surprise. Ahora bien, la segunda carrera importante de este domingo son las míticas 500 Millas de Indianapolis de Indycar y me atrevo a decir que esta es la carrera más importante del automovilismo. Al menos desde mi punto de visto. Esta competencia se da en el óvalo de Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Lo más curioso de este escenario es que es un rectángulo y no forma que tienen los óvalos tradicionales. El mismo tiene una longitud de 2.5 millas, con cuatros curvas de 9° de peralte, cada una de ellas. Recordar que en este escenario también corre NASCAR, con la Brickyard 400, en el pasado corrió MotoGP y también la máxima categoría del deporte motor mundial, la F1. Lo más impresionante de la pista de Indianapolisis son sus 113 años de historia, ya que esta en las competencias desde el 1909. Tiene una capacidad de 375.000 espectadores y esto se suelen llenar para el día de la carrera, sin ningún haciendo vacío, lo cual hace aun más grandiosa esta carrera y de allí la historia que tiene.

Algo característico de esta carrera es que los mejores pilotos del mundo la quieren correr, no en vano Fernando Alonso corrió este evento, hasta en tres oportunidades, para así ganar la triple corona, como es el GP de Monaco (F1) que lo logró, las 24 Horas de Le Mans donde también obtuvo la victoria, mientras que Indy 500 se le hizo esquiva. Este es un claro ejemplo de lo que representa esta carrera. Ver la competencia por TV es lo mejor del mundo, una carrera donde los pilotos pasan a otros de un momento a otro, pero también se puede perder posiciones en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, se alcanzar grandes velocidades y saber trabajar en el draft es primordial. Los pilotos deben ir analizando en toda la carrera en cual momento es el ideal para atacar por la victoria.

Debo confesar que en los últimos años he estado alejado un poco de la categoría, sobre todo cuando se dejó de transmitir para latinoamerica. Esto lo comento porque se me hace un poco complicado decir un favorito y más cuando sabemos que esta carrera puede ser una lotería, no como en Daytona en NASCAR, porque aquí un buen balance en el auto influye. Para esta edición 107 de las 500 Millas de Indianápolis, hay en total 9 pilotos que han ganado esta carrera al menos en una ocasión. También hay aquellos que han ganado en más de una oportunidad. Estos pilotos que han ganado son Hélio Castroneves, Alexander Rossi, Marcus Ericsson, Scott Dixon, Takuma Sato, Will Power, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Simon Pagenaud y Tony Kanaan. Ha cualquier de ellos le veo oportunidad, pero algo me dice que este año puede ser de Dixon, quien querrá ganar su segunda carrera en Indianapolis, tras su primera victoria de 2008. Entre los pilotos que corren esta carrera, el mayor ganador es Jimmie Johnson, quien hay que recordar que está teniendo una temporada parcial, luego de haberse retirado hace varios años e incursionar en Indycar y las 500 millas de Indy, pero no tuvo mucha suerte. Johnson tiene un total de 8 ganes. El 7 veces campeón de la serie de la copa NASCAR también es líder en tops 5 con 16, junto a Kyle Busch, y primero en tops 10 con 22. Jimmie es líder en pole con 4 y vueltas lideradas con 1.936. Sin lugar a dudas el californiano es sería uno de los favoritos, aunque no lo veo en condiciones de ganar, ya no es el mismo, la edad no pasa en vano. Veremos qué pasa.

Entre los pilotos activos de tiempo completo, Kevin Harvick y Martin Truex Jr. son los que tiene el mejor promedio de carrera finalizadas en la últimas 5 y 10 ediciones respectivamente, con un promedio para de 7.6 para Harvick y 7.7 para Truex Jr. Ahora bien, pienso que el gran favorito para quedarse con esta carrera es Kyle Larson, que viene la ganar la semana pasada la carrera de las Estrella y viene de tener muy buenas resultados en las últimas fechas, lo cual viene muy motivado y con el envión necesario. Willian Byron es otro de mis candidatos, sin dejar por fuera a su compañero de equipo Chase Elliott en Hendrick Motor Speedway. Kyle Busch nunca puede ser descartado. Mis caballos negros son Harvick y Truex Jr, quienes no están pasando por su mejor momento, pero tienen buenos números en la pista, pero sobretodo la experiencia.
