My Actifit Report Card: August 5 2024
As a full time daddy (parental leave) I had quite a lot on my hands. Besides the feedings and mandatory play time together (which I truly enjoyed) she was being super difficult about her nap time. If she naps a bit less during the day that's fine, but she was already making lots of sounds starting from 5 a.m so I had to put my food down. No easy task when she really doesn't want to nap
I didn't go outside with her cause mama came home a bit earlier from work to do that for me. This allowed me to go for a run. It's my third time in the last 2 weeks and a half. Before that I haven't run in many years. And I already did 5 km in 26 minutes and 27 seconds.
I didn't think I'd be able to get this time so quickly. After all, I'm over my 30s and I'm rocking way more kilos than I used to. But than again running this distance was always my thing. I often went running in my teens and at football practice in my youth (european football to be clear) I was able to run everyone off the field with way less training than my teammates. So I guess it's part genetics
What has changed is my knee though, I feel a runner's knee coming up, which isn't that abnormal since being idle so long causes muscle mass to disappear. So I'd probably be ready for another run in a day or 2 - 3 but I'll probably wait 5 days minimum. Injuries can become really nasty if you don't give them time to heal and I prefer to under rather than overdo it if the chance of an injury pops up
